After an almost perfect start of the season Milan host Lille at Stadio San Siro in a match that could be more than interesting.
Stefano Pioli and his men are eyeing their third consecutive win in the Europa League group stages, and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been in magnificent form at the start of the season, and despite failing to convert a penalty in the 3-0 win over Sparta, the Swedish veteran is likely to lead the line for the hosts. Milan is leading Serie A having only dropped two points, and are coming out of an injury crisis that saw Zlatan but also Rafa Leao and Ante Rebic all sidelined. Stefano Pioli and his troops continued their post-lockdown unbeaten spell that has grown up to 28 games. As a result, they find themselves at the top of the Serie A table, and atop Group H in the UEFA Europa League.
Milan got their 3-3 draw at home vs Roma but after that, they have beaten Sparta and Udinese at the Dacia Arena. Kessie fired them in front but his goal was canceled by a Rodrigo De Paul penalty. Zlatan once again bailed his team out with a fine overhead kick. The only question for Milan remains whether Stefano Pioli is willing to risk playing Ibrahimović in every game. He already scored seven goals this season, but at 39 years old, could be at risk of being overplayed if he plays three times per week. Without the Swede, Milan look a far less effective team
Gianluigi Donnarumma and Ante Rebic both returned for Milan last weekend, although the Croatian is likely to be rested on Thursday. Jens Petter Hauge is expected to remain sidelined due to his positive COVID-19 diagnosis, whilst Mattia Gabbia, Mateo Musacchio, and Leo Duarte are all absent at center-back.
Milan (4-3-3): Gianluigi Donnarumma, Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Alessio Romagnoli, Diogo Dalot, Sandro Tonali, Ismael Bennacer, Brahim Diaz, Alexis Saelemaekers, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Rafael Leao
Lille kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 4-1 win over Sparta Prague and then earned a valuable draw against Celtic coming from two goals behind in their second group game. A quickfire double from Mohamed Elyounoussi put Celtic in control of the tie before the half-time whistle blew, but coach Galtier's men restored parity through Zeki Celik and Jonathan Ikone to extend their unbeaten start to the season to 10 matches in all competitions. They have struggled of late and only managed to draw their past three games, allowing PSG to overtake them in the league table. Coach Galtier and his boys must find a way to return to winning habit, they need to take more risks when needed because, in their most recent game against Lyon, they would've felt disappointed not to take all three points given that their opponents played 40 minutes with a man less.
A goal from forward Jonathan Bamba for Lille in the first half was canceled out by an own goal from Turkish right-back Zeki Celik for Lyon, who had center-back Marcelo sent off in the second half.
Jose Fonte has been struggling with fitness and is unlikely to play, with Adama Soumaoro to substitute him. Jonathan David could be rested with Luiz Araujo coming into the side. Renato Sanches and Burak Yilmaz may have a part in Lille’s biggest game of the Europa League so far.
Lille (4-4-2): Mike Maignan, Zeki Celik, Adama Soumaoro, Sven Botman, Domagoj Bradaric, Jonathan Ikone, Benjamin Andre, Boubakary Soumare, Jonathan Bamba, Burak Yilmaz, Jonathan David

Milan is a team to beat at the moment. They have a big rotation and Stefano Pioli manages minutes very well so almost all players are happy with their involvement. Lille plays decent football but they still wait for David to replace Osimhen who gave them an edge in the last season. Both teams to score could be a decent bet as both teams should be satisfied with a goalscoring draw.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
