Milan’s injury crisis is beginning to ease and Zlatan Ibrahimovic was reinvigorated on international duty, but Sampdoria is losing momentum. Read our reasons for Milan vs Sampdoria prediction and betting tips.
The Rossoneri moved to within six points of leaders Inter, who have a game in hand, and there is a growing battle behind them for the top four. Now that they are out of the Europa League, all the focus goes on finishing this Serie A season in the best possible way. Ante Rebic saw his two-match ban halved, while Rafael Leao is also close to a comeback. Ibrahimovic rediscovered his fitness and form for Sweden, providing two assists. Ismael Bennacer assured Milan is ‘playing to be first, not second or third,’ and credited Zlatan Ibrahimovic with bringing a winning mentality. The midfielder has missed much of the season due to injuries but finally seems to be back in business. “It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this good,” he told the media. “There are 10 games to go and I, like everyone else in the team, will give 200 percent. These are the final steps to achieve something huge. We’re playing to be first, not second or third. We want to achieve the best that we possibly can and then we’ll see where we end up.”
Bennacer also credited Ibrahimovic with bringing a winning mentality to Milan. “Everyone knows him, his mentality - he’s a winner,” Bennacer told the media. “Maybe we didn’t have this experience that he brought with him. It’s good for us young players because we improved in this. Now we want to win like he wants to win. Our level is better even at training. In training, we want to win, and he brought that. We have to be proud of what we are doing. But there are still 10 games until the end of May and if we don’t do well everyone will forget everything we did before. Every game has to be like the last for us. I love Italian football, I love how they play and I’ve improved a lot here. I’m a challenger, so maybe I’ll have to try another championship. But for now, I’m good at Milan, we have a good project and I’m happy to be here.”

Samp managed to end their dismal run of results by beating Torino 1-0, though it was far from a vintage performance. Claudio Ranieri had two reasons to be happy for Sampdoria’s win over Torino and insisted he is in no rush to sign a contract extension. An Antonio Candreva goal gave Sampdoria all three points against Torino with the Blucechiati who put an end to a streak of five games without victories. “We won and kept a clean sheet, so I have two reasons to be happy. It wasn’t an easy game. The first half was good. Torino had achieved important results recently. We knew we had to fight for every possession,” the coach told the media. “The first part of the season had been positive, we didn’t win many games lately, but we didn’t play badly either. I don’t like to talk about bad luck and I told the lads not to waste what we had done in the Girone d’andata. "We want to finish among the top 10. I am sure this team has the qualities to do it.”
Will he sign a contract extension with Sampdoria is a question that shadows his future in Genoa? “There’s always time to talk. For me, it’s not a problem. We look forward, and when the President calls me, I’ll talk to him. I am serene even if nobody wants me. I like coaching, I’ll talk to the President, and whoever will be the Sporting Director, I am serene.”

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
