Millwall host Birmingham at the Den (London) in the 30th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 7 pm (UK) on Wednesday, February 17. Read our reasons for Millwall vs Birmingham prediction and betting tips.
Millwall came from behind to continue their impressive recent revival under Gary Rowett after a 2-1 win over Reading on Saturday. Rowett’s team are on their longest unbeaten run of the season (W3, D3) and have moved up the standings into 14th as they welcome Birmingham next. As for the Blues, their bad run continues (D2, L3) after suffering a painful 1-0 defeat at home to Luton. They have only won once in their last 12 league matches (D3, L8) and are third from the bottom as a result, one point behind Rotherham and safety.
Millwall host Birmingham on the back of some improved form, knowing that a win could lift them into the top-half of the table. The Lions extended their unbeaten run in the league to six matches and after three consecutive draws, they will hope a convincing victory against relegation-threatened Blues will make that it four wins out of four. However, a top-six charge still looks unlikely as they sit closer to the drop zone than the playoff spots.
Gary Rowett’s Millwall have picked up 23 of their 38-point haul away from home though, as their late fightback condemned the Royals to back-to-back home defeats. The Lions channeled most of their attacks through Malone on the flanks, and the tactic paid off as his delivery into the box ultimately led to the equaliser before putting a cross on Bennett's head for the winner. However, the price of the win may be too steep as Gary Rowett revealed that Kenneth Zohore is set to be added to their list of unavailable players.
On the other hand, Birmingham boss Aitor Karanka has been under pressure to play with more attacking intent, with his team continuing to struggle for goals in the Championship. Only one league win in eleven matches (D3, L7) has put the Spaniard in a position where he will still have doubts about the change in his players’ mentality. After ending their four-game streak without a goal and a six-game run without a win at Middlesbrough (0-1) on January 16, the Blues desperately need more consistency all around.
However, the Blues have been busy in this transfer window as they are pushing to escape the bottom. They signed Manchester City striker Keyendrah Simmonds and brought Southampton defender Yan Valery on loan until the end of the season. The Blues have also completed a deal for Aberdeen striker Sam Cosgrove in a bid to stop the slide as their wait for a home win goes on after they were pegged back by Luton (1-0) at St Andrew's on Saturday.

The last three league meetings between Millwall and Birmingham have ended as a draw, with the last two goalless. Moreover, all six Championship meetings between Millwall’s Gary Rowett and Birmingham’s Aitor Karanka have ended as a draw, with the last three all ending 0-0.
Millwall’s 4-1 victory against Sheffield Wednesday last time out at home ended a run of 10 league games without a win at the Den. They scored as many goals against the Owls as they managed in their previous seven on home soil (4).
Meanwhile, Birmingham have only lost one of their last nine away league games in London (W4 D4), keeping a clean sheet on five occasions in this run, and have lost one of their last eight away league games against Millwall (W4 D3), to boot.
