Millwall host Blackburn at the Den (London) in the 35th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 3 pm (UK) on Saturday, March 6. Read our reasons for Millwall vs Blackburn prediction and betting tips.
Spirits appear high among the Lions squad after they got back to winning ways on Tuesday night with a 2-1 win against Preston at the Den. Millwall are 10th in the standings having suffered only one loss in their last ten league matches (W4, D5). The Lions have found consistency and are one of the in-form teams in the second division with their current position majorly due to bad performances earlier in the campaign. As for Blackburn, the Rovers' barren run continues, coming into this match on the back of six defeats and only one draw after a 1-0 loss at the hands of Reading on the road. The injury-stricken Blackburn have now slipped down to 15th in the standings, making the magic safety-promising 40-point mark, but slipping irreversibly away from the play-offs.
In midweek, Mason Bennett scored a late winner as Millwall fought back to beat Preston and keep alive their Championship play-off hopes. North End's Ched Evans and Millwall's Scott Malone had both scored sensational goals in an otherwise forgettable first half to leave the scores level. But with his side seemingly heading for a 17th league draw in 34 matches, Bennett scored a well-taken winner inside the final five minutes to ensure Millwall are only seven points behind sixth-placed Cardiff, who thrashed Derby County 4-0.
Millwall’s season-to-date has been one of two halves – Gary Rowett’s side couldn’t manage more than a draw at one point but have only lost three times in 2021. Now, a top-six charge is no longer a distant thought and Gary Rowett, having previously been on the brink of the sack, will be proud of the club's recent resurgence, arguably proving that he remains the right man at the helm in the long term. Now, the high-flying Lions welcome the Rovers, knowing that a win could lift them well into the top-half of the table.
On the other hand, Blackburn’s form is in stark contrast to their encouraging early season and, naturally, boss Tony Mowbray is coming under increased scrutiny. There are sections of the Rovers fanbase that have seemingly seen enough from Mowbray and would like to see him moved on, whilst some are calling for patience. Horrendously out of form and in dreadful need of points to alter the tide, Tony Mowbray is in desperate need of galvanising his squad ahead of a crucial set of fixtures, with the relentless scheduling showing no signs of abating until the end of March.
Mowbray believes Rovers will become a team that can challenge for promotion out of the Championship – but equally that they have fallen short on the expectations he set for this season. That’s why the manager says he understands the frustration of supporters who have seen their side slip to 15th in the table on the back of six defeats in seven matches. The loss at Preston has left Mowbray's side sliding down the Championship table and altering their attention to what is below them, rather than what is ahead.

Millwall meet Blackburn, having last won back-to-back home league games against Blackburn in October 1970 – the Lions were a1-0 winners in this exact fixture in July of last season. On the other hand, Blackburn last completed a league double over Millwall in 1991/92, a season in which they would earn promotion to the Premier League. The Rovers celebrated 2-1 at the Ewood Park in the reverse fixture on December 2.
The two sides head into this match in contrasting forms, with Millwall brimming with confidence and Blackburn struggling to get a hold of themselves. The Rovers’ key man Armstrong's fitness is questionable and a draw is likely to be played out.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
