Millwall host Brentford in third week of the Championship at The Den (London) on Saturday, September 26 and the match kicks off at 3pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
Last week Millwall kick-started their campaign with their first 0-1 win, away against Rotherham. They have also progressed to the third round of the Carabao Cup, where they await Premier League side Burnley in midweek. The Lions now have four points and two clean sheets so far in the league, and while goals have not come yet, Gary Rowett will feel that the foundations have been laid for them to build on their near miss with the play-offs in July.
The Bees won their first Championship game at their fantastic, albeit empty, new Community Stadium, against Huddersfield. It was a comfortable 3-0 win and it set them up nicely for another win in midweek, this time against Premier League newcomers West Brom after penalties in the third round of the Carabao Cup. The two wins on the trot will do wonders for Thomas frank's side as they head to London on Saturday.
MATCH ANALYSIS
After their blend goalless draw in a campaign opener against Stoke, Millwall defeated Rotherham away preserving their unbeaten start to the season and making it just three defeats in their last 17 away matches in all competitions. Historically, Millwall have not started seasons out of the blocks and now they have started on the front foot which bodes well for the rest of the campaign. Gary Rowett brought much needed stability to the team, while still maintaining Millwall's typical aggressiveness with pressing and getting under opponent's skin. The club finished eighth in the last three seasons, so the ground-work is in place to start aiming for the top prize. The question begs if the Lions are up for it this season, and the last year's play-off finals loser will be a real test.
As for Brentford, since their surprise defeat at Birmingham City in the Championship, five goals and two clean sheets have come in matches against Southampton and Huddersfield Town respectively. While doubts remain over the future of Said Benrahma, the newcomers to the starting lineup are showing signs of adapting to Thomas Frank's style of play. They have also signed their third player this summer, Iranian forward Saman Ghoddos from Amiens on a year-loan, who will give them more depth up-front. The Bees progressed to the 4th round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday for the first time in their history.More importantly, they showed a fighting spirit to come back from behind twice and they will look to keep that momentum when they travel to London on Saturday.

As for the facts and stats, looking back over the last decade, the two sides have played 9 times. The Lions have won 2 and the Bees have won 4 , while 3 ended in a draw.
Millwall have kept 6 clean sheets in their last 20 home games and the visitors have missed the net in 7 of their last 20 away league games.
Millwall's home games have seen 60% of their home matches ending with both teams scoring (W4 -D2-L6), and Brentford's percentage of their away games finishing with both teams scoring is little lower at 40% (W3-D2-L3)
Finally, when these sides have faced each other, there has been an average of 2.55 goals per game. Out of these, Millwall have scored an average of 1.1 goals, while Brentford have averaged 1.4.
With both teams slowly finding their feet it should be an entertaining match, so my prediction will be Over 2.5 goals.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
