MILLWALL VS COVENTRY MATCH ANALYSIS
Millwall gets back in action after their games at Bournemouth on 26 December and at home to Watford on 29 December had both been called off after an outbreak of Covid-19 in the squad. Meanwhile, they have fallen down the table to 16th remaining on 19 points after their most recent match, a 1-1 draw with Notts Forest at home on December 19. The visitors, on the other hand, are without a win in their last four league games (D2, L2) and come into this match on the back of a 2-0 defeat at Preston, after which they are sitting in 17th place, having picked up 23 points so far.
Millwall ended their ten-game winless run with a 2-0 victory away at Bristol City and drew against Nottingham next and will hope that those results could be the catalyst for their re-ascent to the upper echelons of the table. They currently cannot jump back into the top half with a win this weekend, but another three points would go a long way to rectifying their dismal recent form.
As for their most recent match before a coronavirus outbreak in their ranks, Tom Bradshaw put the Lions ahead with a simple side-foot finish, but an 18-year-old Mighten, on his fourth start for the Reds, ran onto a long ball to dink a lovely equaliser. The Londoners continued to press, with boss Gary Rowett making five attacking changes in the final 20 minutes, but they were kept at arm's length and remain in 16th place.
As for the Sky Blues, they have been missing from the Championship for eight years and Mark Robins, in his second stint at the club, did an excellent job of leading the team back to the second-tier, and he did so in style. For them, the biggest objective is surely to stay up and anything better than that will be a bonus. Coventry still look like they’re trying to find their feet in their long-awaited return to the second-tier of English football, but are currently seven huge points away from the bottom three.
Against Preston on Tuesday, Daniel Johnson and Sean Maguire scored in either half as Preston North End beat Coventry for their third Championship win in a row. Coventry failed to make the most of their chances and were clumsy at the back. Mark Robins said in the aftermath that he felt frustrated and angry, which is understandable as his men played some really good stuff, but eventually gave the game away.

Millwall managed to halt their poor run of form last time out with a much-needed and morale-boosting victory and a subsequent draw. The Lions showed earlier in the season that they can turn on the pace when required and with Tobias and Anthony Knockaert returning from suspensions, they will hope they can get another three points in the bag.
The visitors, on the other hand, are doing alright even though they were not given much chance before the league started. Since November 7 their defeat at the hands of Preston was only their second one and would fair even better if they had managed to turn some of the draws into wins.
BettingKick’s prediction for the Millwall vs Coventry match is: Under 2.5 goals
