Millwall host Swansea at the Den (London) in the 41st round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 12.30 pm (UK) on Saturday, April 10. Read our reasons for Millwall vs Swansea prediction and betting tips.
Millwall are hoping to keep alive their slim chances of making the playoffs as they sit ninth in the table, eight points behind Reading in sixth. They have given it a good go in recent weeks and head into Saturday’s match with four wins in their last five matches after they claimed a 2-1 victory at Stoke on Monday. On the other hand, the Swans suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Preston last time out. After a four-game losing run, Steve Cooper’s men are in danger of slipping out of the playoff places despite sitting fourth. They are just five points above seventh-placed Bournemouth, who have been on the rise in recent weeks.
On Easter Monday Murray Wallace and Mason Bennett found the net either side of a Jacob Brown equaliser to secure an eighth away success of the 2020/21 campaign for the Lions. Gary Rowett made two changes from Good Friday's win over Rotherham - both enforced - as Alex Pearce and Kenneth Zohore came in for the injured Shaun Hutchinson, who is likely to miss the rest of the season and the ineligible Ryan Woods. Thankfully for Millwall, there’s not a huge amount to play for between now and the end of the season and so the focus now will be on finishing strongly.
The Lions have once again come into top-six contention towards the end of the campaign and with six games of the season remaining, fans are starting to dream. However, Bournemouth, Reading and Barnsley the teams keeping them out of the top six, all won to take them three points closer to the play-offs. On the other hand, Rowett’s men have a good record at the Den with just one defeat in their last eight matches and will probably give the struggling Swans the run for their money.
As for Swansea, they have lost four matches on the bounce to fall 10 points behind second-placed Watford with just seven matches of the regular season left to play. Also, Steve Cooper's men have not scored a single goal in their previous four outings while they failed to register a shot on target in their 1-0 defeat to the North End at the Liberty Stadium on Monday. It is difficult to know where this run will end or indeed whether it will.
Based on performances for the last two months, the play-off position is anything but guaranteed and even if the Swans made it, there seems to be little fight, adaptation, passion or desire within this team to come through and secure that promotion. For the large part of this season, they have not been “fun” to watch but the results were either making up for it or masking the position Swansea were really in. The 1-0 wins, the late equalisers, the disputed penalties all kept them in touch with the top end but frankly Norwich, Bournemouth, and, yes even them, Brentford are better sides at the moment.

Millwall meet Swansea trying to record their fourth win on the trot, while Swansea will hope to prevent their fifth successive defeat. The Swans celebrated a 2-1 win in October at the Liberty Stadium, but the Lions are much tougher opposition at home, succumbing to defeats only four times this term (W6, D10).
Historically, Swansea are a better side with 6 wins to Millwall’s 4 from their 14 meetings, but this time they’ll be out trying not to lose. That could play into Millwall’s hands as they need the three points here to remain in the hunt for the top-six.
Those fourteen games have seen both teams averaging exactly 2.5 goals combined and we don't expect them to exceed that limit now – the BettingKick’s Millwall vs Swansea prediction is: Under 2.5 goals

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
