Montenegro hopes to continue their fine start to the 2022 World Cup qualifiers when they host Norway in Podgorica on Tuesday. Read our reasons for Montenegro vs Norway prediction and betting tips.
What the Montenegrin national coach Miodrag Radulović wished for before the start of the qualifications for the World Cup came true. The Montenegrin football players justified the role of favorites in the matches against Latvia and Gibraltar, so they will host Norway in the 3rd round of Group G with a maximum of six points. The coach wants to continue the winning streak against the selection led by the great goal scorer Erling Haaland. "We are chasing all nine points in the first three matches. No one can take away our desires and dreams. We are not afraid of the Norwegians, it will be a derby and it will be interesting. Only the fans are missing to complete the spectacle", said Radulović.
The Brave Falcons celebrated a convincing victory against Gibraltar. "I have to be satisfied when the match finished with 4-1 as the final result. It was not pleasant after the equalizer, but we believed that everything would be fine in the end. It was much easier when we took the lead again. We won six points from two matches, we scored six goals, that is a good start", said Radulović. Montenegro had difficulties obtaining a clean sheet. "The most important thing is that everything ended well, we continue with the smile on our faces but we will try to erase the mistakes. This is work in progress", said Radulović. Radulovic is expected to hand recalls to Stefan Savic and Jovetic after the key duo dropped out of the starting lineup against Gibraltar. Either Fatos Beqiraj or Uros Djurdjevic will take their place in attack, but Vladimir Jovovic could keep his place ahead of Igor Ivanovic.
Montenegro: Mijatovic; Marusic, Savic, Vujacic, Radunovic; Kosovic, Scekic; Ivanović, Jovetic, Haksabanovic; Đurđević
The Norwegian national football team arrived in Podgorica on the match with Montenegro with shaky self-confidence. Erling Halland and his team recorded a convincing 3-0 defeat by Turkey in the second round of qualifications for the World Cup. The duel, which was played on a neutral field in Malaga, was one-way traffic with another brilliant Turkey performance who grabbed points with the Tufan brace and Sojuncu header. Senol Gunes's team thus took first place in Group G with six points. The Norwegian national football team is forced to chase victory against Montenegro to remain competitive in the qualifying cycle for the World Cup. Coach Stole Solbaken is aware that his team is in trouble. "We are disappointed, but we have to turn to a new match. The match in Montenegro is now like a small final for us, we have to find a way to win. If we do that, then the next match is against the Netherlands, where we are also under duress", said Solbakken.
Norway will be without Kristian Thorstvedt, who was sent off against Turkey after his introduction as a substitute. Andre Hansen is also in line to take the place of Rune Jarstein after the first-choice goalkeeper was withdrawn at halftime in that game. Jonas Svensson and Joshua King are options for Solbakken if he wants to make further changes to his team.
Norway: Hansen; Ryerson, Gregersen, Ajer, Meling; Midtsjo, Odegaard, Berg, Elyounoussi; Haaland, Sorloth

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
