Napoli looked like a team that could challenge Juve in the title race after the first game in the season but they will have another test on Sunday when they host Genoa.
Napoli fell apart last year and finished out of Europe, ending in 7th place. After finishing second in three of the previous four Serie A campaigns (finishing third on the other occasion), Napoli slipped to a disappointing seventh last season, 21 points off champions Juventus. Champions League football and a 4th place finish are to be expected in this season and the huge signing of Victor Osimhen from Lille is a great sign of trying to turn the tide. A big striker will give versatility to their attack and some depth so Insigne, Mertens, and Lozano can move away from heavy load from their backs. Osimhen is brought to score goals and to help Napoli be more present in the rival penalty box. Their defense was not that great, do they need to create more chances and finish them at a higher rate.
Napoli won 2-0 against Parma, Victor Osimhen was impressive from the bench, stole the headlines even without scoring or assisting. He is expected to start in place of Dries Mertens in the 4-3-3 formation, as the 4-2-3-1 is still a risky prospect. He is very powerful but has the sense to play with approaching midfielders, he has a sense for space and very good through the ball so with his signing Napoli got players that will raise the level of the whole team and also helped them to run more clever in the final third, without wasting stamina on solo runs.
Napoli (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Manolas, Koulibaly, Mario Rui; Fabian Ruiz, Demme, Zielinski; Lozano, Osimhen, Insigne
Suspended: None
Injured: Malcuit, Ciciretti, Younes
Rolando Maran’s Genoa side is coming together surprisingly quickly, thrashing Crotone 4-1 with goals from newcomers Davide Zappacosta and Marko Pjaca. Goran Pandev was a key figure for them, connecting lines from midfield and attack, not so quick anymore but still creative to score and assist to teammates. Mattia Perin needs to keep performing as a keeper and the defense needs to get much better to avoid relegation. The number of chances they gave up was astounding. The young talents like center back Cristian Romero and Andrea Favili need to take another step forward in terms of talent to keep this team up another year in Serie A. Genoa finished just outside the relegation zone last season, with a mere four points between them and Lecce.
Their early win over newly-promoted Crotone will have been a boost to confidence but, in Napoli, they face a far more dangerous opponent. New arrival Davide Zappacosta - on loan from Chelsea - made his debut against Crotone alongside Miha Zajc - on loan from Fenerbahce. Milan Badelj also made his full debut after joining from Lazio and all three are likely to retain their places. Badelj could be huge for them because he is the right kind of player that Genoa needs, very calm on the ball, and able to switch sides when matters in transition. Andrea Masiello and Francesco Cassata are available again after suspension, with Luca Pellegrini also thrown in after his loan from Juventus.
Genoa (3-5-2): Perin; Biraschi, Goldaniga, Masiello; Ghiglione, Lerager, Badelj, Zajc, Zappacosta; Pandev, Destro
Suspended: None
Injured: Cassata, Sturaro

Regarding what we saw in the first matches of the season from both teams it could be a very fun and interesting game and Napoli is a big favorite to win this match. Osimhen could be a key player and ready for the premiere goal in the Seria A.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
