Napoli is in the depths of a crisis on and off the field, as they finally get to face Juventus after the drama of the postponed Turin trip.
This is the first Serie A meeting of the season between these teams, as Napoli didn’t travel in October due to COVID cases, initially earning them a point penalty and automatic 3-0 defeat, then scrapped on appeal, with the game yet to be rescheduled. They did face-off last month in the Italian Supercup, Juve winning 2-0 and Lorenzo Insigne left in tears after missing a penalty. Arguably, the Partenopei have not recovered from that night, as pressure grows on coach Gennaro Gattuso and injuries pile up.
Napoli coach said he doesn’t know if the Juventus match will be his last chance to save the job. ‘You have to ask the club’. After the Coppa Italia exit against Atalanta on Wednesday, Gattuso admitted his men struggled in the first half but was happy with the passion of the Azzurri players in the second. It ended with a 3-1 defeat at the Gewiss Stadium and the reports in Italy claim it could be a decisive match for the former Milan coach. “The captain of the ship is me, when things go badly, they are at the expense of the captain. I can’t think of this as the penultimate or last resort, I have to work and I have to be able to trust. I’m a coach, it’s like that. I won’t be the first, nor the last, but I must try until the end.”

Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo has reached the Coppa Italia Final in his first season, the ninth coach to achieve the feat since 2000. The goalless draw with Inter at the Allianz Stadium was enough to see the Old Lady through to the Final, as Pirlo’s men secured a 2-1 win in Milan last week. Juventus continued to push for silverware under the former midfielder’s reign and have reached the first target of the season, a Final in the Italian Cup. Pirlo took over last summer when he replaced Maurizio Sarri at the helm and has now reached the Cup Final in his first season with the Bianconeri.
Pirlo admitted he was hoping to reach the milestone in his first season at the helm. “I hoped so, as a debutant I planned to win a Supercoppa, to reach the Final of the Coppa Italia and the last 16 of the Champions League,” he told media after the goalless draw against Inter. “As a player, it was easier, it ended after the game. As a coach, you have to think about the next game immediately, you have to think for 30 different heads. But we haven’t achieved anything yet, now we’ll rest and prepare for Saturday’s match.” The defense did a great job to keep out Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez. “I have always said that I’m lucky to have four very good center-backs,” Pirlo continued. “They are adapting to our way of defending and are improving. Not only Giorgio’s [Chiellini] return, the others are doing very well and I’m happy about this.”
Juventus (3-5-2): Szczesny; Bonucci, Chiellini, Danilo; Cuadrado, McKennie, Rabiot, Bentancur, Chiesa; Morata, Ronaldo
Suspended: None
Injured: Dybala

Having won 2-1 in January 2020, Napoli could enjoy two consecutive Serie A victories against Juventus for the first time since Walter Mazzarri’s tenure in 2011. Napoli is not in the same form or state of mind so Juventus should exploit their crisis and snatch a valuable three points in the title race.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
