Gennaro Gattuso and Daniele Bonera reunite at the San Paolo for Napoli-Milan with the former defender who will be in charge of the Rossoneri as both Stefano Pioli and his assistant coach have tested positive for Covid.
Gennaro Gattuso reiterates Napoli ‘need to be kept on their toes’ after a 1-0 win away to Bologna. A header from Victor Osimhen proved enough at the Stadio Dall’Ara, but there were some late scares when Bologna created several scoring opportunities. There was a surprise before kick-off, as Mario Rui and Faouzi Ghoulam were sent to the stands, a decision made by the coach as punishment for a poor attitude in training.
Napoli are working on ways to hurt Milan and bring the three points home, considering a victory would put Napoli level on points with the Rossoneri, can this be seen as an early Scudetto showdown? Napoli has a strong squad, they are focused and if they continue like this, they can be up there at the end of the season. Whoever wins will move towards Scudetto's contention, for sure, and with Gennaro Gattuso spent most of his playing career and some of his time as a coach at Milan they will have a proper insight of everything Milan throw at them. Napoli is unbeaten in the last 11 Serie A games against Milan (6W, 5D).
Victor Osimhen picked up a shoulder injury during the international break and is likely to be replaced by Dries Mertens while both Amir Rrahmani and Elseid Hysaj have caught Covid.
Napoli (4-2-3-1): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Manolas, Koulibaly, Mario Rui; Bakayoko, Fabian Ruiz; Lozano, Zielinski, Insigne; Mertens
Suspended: none
Injured: Osimhen, Hysaj, Rrahmani
Milan is in great shape right now and if they are top of the table, it’s because they are doing well. They are unbeaten in 19 Serie A games and that says so much about how well they are working. Coach Stefano Pioli warned Milan players they must get used to the difficulties of playing in the Europa League, but was reassured by the ‘character’ showed in a fightback to hold Verona 2-2. It was a chaotic match at San Siro, just days after the Rossoneri’s first defeat since March, 3-0 to Lille in the Europa League. When Verona took a 2-0 lead, the fears were of a repeat, then Franck Kessie’s deflected effort got them back to 2-1 and Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed his third consecutive penalty. However, Zlatan also got the equalizer in stoppages – after his handball had seen a Davide Calabria volley disallowed. Both the Verona goals came after dead-ball situations and Pioli sees a problem. They conceded five goals between Roma and Verona from set plays and that means they need to be more focused.
After Milan coach Stefano Pioli’s assistant Giacomo Murelli tested positive for coronavirus, Daniele Bonera should be next in line to take charge against Napoli. The former Rossoneri defender is part of Pioli’s coaching staff and he is in possession of the UEFA Pro license.
Rafael Leao is the only player unavailable for the Rossoneri because of a thigh injury he sustained on international duty. Ante Rebic returns after an elbow injury he picked up in September and will replace the Portuguese international on the left-hand side of Milan's attacking trident.
Milan (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic
Suspended: none
Injured: Leao

It should be a very entertaining match between two good teams that play in a different formation and with an almost opposite approach. Both teams to score is the most reasonable betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
