Napoli had a hard time at the end of the last year, but their win against Cagliari could be a start of the new good streak and Spezia should be a perfect fit for their style of play.
Gennaro Gattuso still wasn’t entirely happy after Napoli beat Cagliari 4-1 but the Partenopei ended their poor run of three games without a Serie A victory by dominating performance in Sardinia with a Piotr Zielinski brace. Gattuso isn’t happy with the conversion of the created chances as they once again had more than 10 scoring opportunities and take a few of them. Considering all the forwards they are missing right now, they didn’t have a problem with going into the final third more than 20 times and but they lacked determination as Napoli coach stressed it is an issue of mentality.
Among the players currently missing is Osimhen, who after dislocating his shoulder on international duty, then had a birthday party in Nigeria and contracted COVID-19. There have been reports that the striker will be fined by the club and Gattuso did not rule that out. Gattuso was the one who gave the all-clear for him to return to Nigeria and so both of them were left embarrassed by what happened. Kalidou Koulibaly, Dries Mertens, and Diego Demme is sidelined at the moment and has been ruled out of this fixture.
Napoli (4-2-3-1): Alex Meret; Mario Rui, Nikola Maksimovic, Kostas Manolas, Giovanni Di Lorenzo; Tiemoue Bakayoko, Fabian Ruiz; Matteo Politano, Piotr Zielinski, Lorenzo Insigne; Andrea Petagna
A spectacular Mattia Zaccagni over-head kick gave Verona the deserved victory away to Spezia, who went down to 10 men. The hosts had just three draws from their last seven Serie A games and an ever-growing injury list, which included Andrij Galabinov, Cristiano Dell’Orco, Daniele Verde, Federico Mattiello, plus suspended Claudio Terzi but M’Baye Nzola should’ve put Spezia in front early when pouncing on a poor Marco Davide Faraoni back-pass, but the angled drive only hit the side-netting. Both teams had their chances but the game changed on 68 minutes when Julian Chabot received his second yellow card for running into the back of Faraoni, leaving Spezia down to 10 men. Moments later, Verona took a deserved lead with a spectacular goal from Mattia Zaccagni. Faraoni volleyed the cross from the right for his chest and acrobatic overhead kick, giving Provedel no chance.
Julian Chabot was sent off against and is suspended for this game. Cristian Dell'Orco, Federico Mattiello, Jeroen Zoet, and Andrej Galabinov are injured and will not be able to play against Napoli.
Spezia (4-3-3): Ivan Provedel; Simone Bastoni, Martin Erlic, Juan Manuel Ramos, Salvador Ferrer; Tommaso Pobega, Matteo Ricci, Nahuel Estevez; Emmanuel Gyasi, M'Bala Nzola, Diego Farias

Napoli is a big favorite despite their statistics and just three wins out of ten games when Dries Mertens is out of the team. The home win is the most preferable betting option here.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
