Napoli will try to change fortunes after two losses, something that Torino didn't do from the start of the season.
Napoli has announced on Monday the team will enter a retreat, preparing for their last match of 2020 against Torino on Wednesday. The Partenopei followed up a 1-0 defeat to Inter with a 2-0 loss against Lazio last night and trail League leaders Milan by eight points. The decision was, according to several media, made by coach Gennaro Gattuso and his assistant manager Gigi Riccio admitted Napoli ‘expected more’ and was ‘not up to standard’ in the 2-0 defeat to Lazio. It was always going to be difficult at the Stadio Olimpico without suspended Lorenzo Insigne, injured Dries Mertens or Victor Osimhen, then Chucky Lozano went off with an ankle sprain. Pepe Reina was tested a couple of times, but otherwise, the Partenopei failed to genuinely create chances. Gattuso’s assistant manager Riccio spoke to the media, as the coach is still struggling with Ocular Myasthenia. “Rino is battling this eye problem, it’ll take a few more days and hopefully it’ll all return to normal soon,” said Riccio.
Napoli forward Hirving Lozano was carried off with an ankle injury in the defeat against Lazio, so is unlikely to feature on Wednesday, and defensive cornerstone Kalidou Koulibaly has now been ruled out until after the winter break. Skipper Lorenzo Insigne returns from suspension in time to replace Lozano, with Dries Mertens and Victor Osimhen also currently sidelined. Andrea Petagna once more starts upfront.
Napoli (4-2-3-1): David Ospina; Mario Rui, Nikola Maksimovic, Kostas Manolas, Giovanni Di Lorenzo; Tiemoue Bakayoko, Fabian Ruiz; Hirving Lozano, Piotr Zielinski, Lorenzo Insigne; Andrea Petagna
Marco Giampaolo claimed Torino’s problems ‘can’t be solved in one game’ after the Granata’s 1-1 draw against Bologna. Torino sits 19th in the Serie A table with seven points in 13 games. Urbano Cairo said last week he is not thinking about sacking his coach. A howler from Angelo Da Costa broke the deadlock on Simone Verdi’s free-kick, but Roberto Soriano earned Bologna a point with Torino. The Granata had originally been given as an own goal for the comical Da Costa kick, but the Lega Serie A later assigned it to Verdi against his old club. Soriano is also a former Toro player and nutmegged Vanja Milinkovic-Savic to ensure a share of the spoils.
Expected to persist with a 4-3-1-2 setup, Torino coach Marco Giampaolo will probably revert to the experience of striker Simone Zaza alongside perennial top scorer Andrea Belotti, with Sasa Lukic filling the 'trequartista' role. Brazilian defender Lyanco misses out through suspension so Nicolas Nkoulou will step in at center-back, while Federico Bonazzoli and Cristian Ansaldi both have thigh injuries and may not make the squad.
Torino (3-5-2): Vanja Milinkovic-Savic; Bremer, Lyanco, Armando Izzo; Ricardo Rodriguez, Karol Linetty, Tomas Rincon, Sasa Lukic, Mergim Vojvoda; Federico Bonazzoli, Andrea Belotti

Although Napoli miss several key players, they must be favorites to win the next match. Both teams to score is the most reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
