Newcastle host Wolves at the St. James’ Park (Newcastle) in the 26th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Saturday, February 27. Read our reasons for Newcastle vs Wolves prediction and betting tips.
Newcastle must arrest their slide towards the Premier League relegation zone, with Wolves the visitors to St James’ Park this weekend. The Wanderers have returned to form themselves in recent weeks, and are targeting a return to the top half of the table under the Saturday night lights. Last time out, Raul Jimenez put Wolves in front with just 10 minutes left between these teams at Molineux in October, but Jacob Murphy netted an 89th-minute equalizer for Newcastle. That was a fourth straight 1-1 draw between these clubs.
There are as few as 3 points between Newcastle United and the relegation and Steve Bruce will be feeling some pressure. The Magpies have been anything but impressive in the national championship this season, with the team sitting in 17th position in the standings, lingering dangerously close to the drop. Newcastle United head into the match following back-to-back losses to Man Utd (3-1) and Chelsea (2-0), and it is no wonder the odds for an away win have been dropping.
Last weekend, Newcastle played better than the 3-1 defeat to Manchester United would suggest. Steve Bruce's side actually looked to press and get at United and arguably deserved more from the fixture. Newcastle have now lost 8 of their last 10 Premier League games, but recent wins over Everton and Southampton have kept them from falling into the bottom three. However, It would be surprising if they get dragged into the scrap if they remain playing with this more attack-minded approach we've seen of late.
Wolves, on the other hand, would be disappointed with their inconsistent performances this season, as expectations were set high with their 2019/20 Premier League season. The Midlands club have fallen from 7th to 12th in the table. Having won three of their last 12 top-flight matches, Wolves standards have slipped in the absence of their main striker Raul Jimenez. Their season has been severely hampered by injuries to senior players but things are slowly improving after back-to-back wins against mid-table rivals Southampton (2-1) and Leeds (1-0).
The Wanderers are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games, beating Arsenal, Southampton, and Leeds, and drawing with high-flying Leicester in the other. That followed a run of eight games without a win for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, where Wolves lost five times to slide right down the table. However, the recent return of wing backs Jonny, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Marcal has galvanized the side and given Nuno some badly needed options.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
