Nimes are set to play hosts to Marseille on Friday in their next Ligue 1 fixture at the Stade des Costieres.
Nîmes will be hoping to return to winning ways here after a 3-0 Ligue 1 loss in their previous game against Monaco. Goals from young midfielder Sofiane Diop, Portugal international Gelson Martins and German attacker Kevin Volland secured a win for AS Monaco over Nimes, who had veteran midfielder Lucas Deaux sent off in the second half.
Nîmes have really struggled up front of late. Their ‘goals for’ figure stands at just 2 against opponents during the course of their last 6 fixtures. In those games, Les Crocodiles have also seen the number of goals scored against them come to 15. That trend won’t necessarily follow through into this match, however. Leading up to this clash, Nîmes have not beaten Marseille in their last 3 matches in the league and are without a home win in the past 5 matches in the league. Their fans aren't happy.
Marseille, on the other hand, beat Greek side Olympiacos 2-1 on Tuesday at the Stade Velodrome in their latest Champions League group stage game. Two penalties from former West Ham United midfielder and France international Dimitri Payet sealed a narrow win for Marseille. Guinea international Mady Camara had given Olympiacos the lead in the first half.
The stats don’t lie, and Marseille have been scored against in 5 of their last 6 games, letting opponents get 10 goals in all. At the back, Les Olympiens can certainly do much better. Heading into this contest, Marseille have not been beaten in their last 13 league matches away from home. Not many clubs can boast an away record as good as that. Thanks to a mainly healthy group, there is only the sole fitness problem for the Marseille manager André Villas-Boas to be concerned about. Nemanja Radonjic won’t be playing here.

So, our final Nimes vs Marseille Prediction is Marseille to win.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
