PSG will look to continue their turnaround after an early-season stumbling when they travel to Nimes in Ligue 1 on Friday night.
Nimes got a very important win in the last round and improved heavily their league standings and will be desperate to stick with the performance from the last game but the Parisians have bounced back after suffering successive defeats at the start of the campaign, winning their last four matches and producing three clean sheets in that time. Nîmes is hoping to win again after their last result, a 1-0 Ligue 1 away win vs Montpellier. In that match, Nîmes had a very decent counterattacking tactic that gave a result in the 84' when Renaud Ripart scored the only goal of the game. That was the main reason Nimes is currently 13th with 8 points after six games.
The champions have beaten Nimes 3-0 in three of the last four meetings between the pair and Nimes have failed to score in six of eight meetings with PSG but the home team in this encounter had two more than decent draws before winning vs Montepellier against Lyon and Lens and their form is improving.
Zinedine Ferhat must be mentioned because he is the key player for Nimes in this season, with three goals and two assists in six Ligue 1 matches. He is the only Nimes player to net more than once this season and will be looking to improve upon his tally when PSG comes to town.
They have problems in the build-up to this match, Nimes center-back Anthony Briancon is suspended after an accumulation of yellow cards, while Sidy Sarr, Haris Duljevic, Sofiane Alakouch, Clement Depres, and Antoine Valerio are all injured.
After a bad start of the season and two consecutive defeats, PSG has won their last four games in Ligue 1, the best current run of any side. They also kept a clean sheet in three of these four games, and it is easy to expect from them to continue that good run, having won all of their last four meetings with Nimes, with 3-0 result in their favor in three of those victories. PSG was constantly below their standards before the last game in which they beat 6-1 Angers easily.
In that game, Paris Saint-Germain had 18 attempts at goal with 12 of them on target and the goals were scored by Alessandro Florenzi 7', Neymar Jr 36', 47', Julian Draxler 57', Idrissa Gueye 71' and Kylian Mbappé 84'. They broke a tendency of their rivals unable to score against them but that is happening more than ever, in their last 6 meetings that it has occurred 5 times.
There are several reasons to believe that the international break came at the wrong time for Tuchel's team that found the level of the performance they need to win in domestic games. Neymar – Mbappe duo was unstoppable with Brasilian also converting his form from the league into a series of brilliant performances for the national team. Mbappe on the other side has some fun time on the pitch vs Ukraine but found big problems in trying to score vs Portugal. Neymar will probably start from the bench in this game because of his late flight on Thursday from South America.
PSG will be without Angel Di Maria, who is serving the second of his four-match ban. Layvin Kurzawa also sits out through suspension for his involvement in the brawl which unfolded against Marseille last month. Elsewhere, Thilo Kehrer and Juan Bernat remain sidelined through injury for Tuchel.

Away win is the most reasonable option here, but with PSG constant improvements it could also be a large victory with many goals in Nimes net.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
