Norwich host Brentford at the Carrow Road (Norwich) in the 34th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 5.30 pm (UK) on Wednesday, March 3. Read our reasons for Norwich vs Brentford prediction and betting tips.
The hosts, the league-topping Norwich, will come in hot into this match with a five-game winning streak and a seven-point cushion at the top from the visiting Brentford in 2nd place. The Canaries head into the midweek on the back of a 0-2 win on the road against the likes of Wycombe last time out on Saturday afternoon. On the other hand, Brentford ended a three-match losing run with back-to-back home wins against Sheffield Wed (3-0) and Stoke (2-1) and remain in the automatic promotion spot after the win against the Potters saw them nudge further ahead of the chasing pack.
This was the fourth game in a row against a team scrapping for survival but so far the Canaries have dealt with Coventry, Rotherham, Birmingham and Wycombe reasonably smoothly, although all four were awkward and Birmingham’s unexpected attacking ambition nearly caught them out last Wednesday. This game, top against bottom, has always looked a banana skin in waiting though, but it was just difficult to see Norwich losing a game at the moment as Daniel Farke’s men are in a good place mentally and physically.
The teams who have caused Norwich the most problems are those who press them high and fast but doing that for 90 minutes against a team so comfortable with passing is very physically draining and can end up leaving them vulnerable at the back, where Buendia or Todd Cantwell can create for Pukki so quickly. Our opinion is that with the Canaries on course for promotion back to the Premier League after a one-year absence, the Bees could be in for a tough time this Wednesday night.
As for the visitors, Brentford steadied the ship with a second consecutive win at the weekend, but Norwich still remain seven points clear at the top of the Championship as the season reaches its final third. The race for play-off places is really starting to hot up. Thomas Frank would have been mightily relieved to witness his side enjoy a 2-1 win, on another occasion where Brentford haven’t had a comfortable 90 minutes since the turn of the year. However, the result must mark the start of a sustained run of improvement for the Bees.
The win against Stoke kept The Bees second in the Championship table and maintained the status quo among the sides leading the pack. Norwich are seven points ahead and Watford are third, three points behind the Bees. The injury-hit Bees have struggled in recent weeks without the spine of their talented side, but Thomas Frank will be encouraged that their triumph at the weekend came after falling behind to a first-minute goal, the winner eventually being scored by the returning Ivan Toney.

Norwich meet Brentford have previously lost only one of their last seven league meetings with Brentford (W3 D3), going down 1-2 at Carrow Road in December 2017. The reverse fixture in London in October ended in a 1-1 draw. Even though Brentford have only won two of their last 16 league visits to Norwich (D2 L12), those two wins have come in their last four such trips (W2 L2).
Teemu Pukki has been outstanding in recent weeks for the hosts, scoring in five successive fixtures and as much praise should be given to the team's defensive unit, which has conceded just two goals since the defeat at Swansea on February 5.
On the other hand, Brentford are a different side without their leading talisman in their side, and his return from a minor injury could prove to be significant over the coming weeks.
We predict a tight match where Norwich would probably settle for a draw a bit more, so the BettingKick’s Norwich vs Brentford prediction is: Under 2.5 goals

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
