The game kicks off at 5.30pm(UK) when Norwich host Burnley on Saturday 18 July at the Carrow Road.
Norwich are the first team to go down this season, as it was no longer mathematically possible for them to stay up, after their defeat against West Ham (4:0), with three games to go. They now have nine consecutive defeats in all competitions, and haven't picked any points in the Premier League since February. They lost to Chelsea in London on Tuesday, and this will be their last game at the Carrow Road this season, and a chance to give their fans a farewell until next one starts.
Burnley, as it seems, are still in the race for one of the European qualification spots, but it is highly unlikely that everything will go their way in the last couple of games. They are in the 10th place, five points behind Wolves in the sixth, with two games to go. If they had won against Wolves on Wednesday, it would have been a huge boost for their European hopes, but the draw didn't suit either teams too much.
NORWICH VS BURNLEY MATCH ANALYSES
Daniel Farke, Norwich manager, said that the team wouldn't have any regrets about this season, but it's hard not to imagine how disappointed they would be after just a single campaign in the Premier League. Before the lockdown and their win against Leicester in late February, they needed only four points to get to safety, but after the restart their form just went out of the window, losing all matches so far.
In this match, their only game plan will be to show their fans that they have a ready answer to the relegation, that they still have their pride and to show a glimpse of what they will have to expect when the next season in the Championship starts. The score and the outcome of the match probably won't matter much.
Burnley, unlike the Canaries, had a good season, when the size of their club and the clubs they were competing against is taken into account. The biggest uncertainty surrounding the club, now that the outcome of this season is clear, is whether or not Sean Dyche will remain in the dugout at Burnley for much longer. He started his job as a Burnley's manager in 2012, and is in the top-three longest serving managers in Premier League.
The Clarets could still improve on their best Premier League points total (54) with victories over Norwich City and Brighton in their last two fixtures, but it remains uncertain if it will be enough to keep Sean Dyche at the helm of the club.
