Norwich host Huddersfield at the Carrow Road (Norwich) in the 40th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 7.45 pm (UK) on Tuesday, April 6. Read our reasons for Norwich vs Huddersfield prediction and betting tips.
Norwich will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Championship when they return to action on Tuesday evening after the Canaries were left frustrated on Good Friday, as Brad Potts’ late equaliser for Preston North End saw the points shared at Deepdale. The draw means that Norwich remain top of the league, but are now six points clear of second-placed Watford, with seven matches remaining in their 2020/21 season. Meanwhile, a perfect Friday afternoon for the Terriers was marred slightly by Birmingham’s unexpected late victory over Swansea, without which we’d be about ready to declare Town’s fight all but won. Nevertheless, the 1-1 draw against Brentford means that the Terriers are now five games unbeaten (W1, D4).
Daniel Farke admitted Norwich were hit by a sucker punch in a 1-1 Championship draw at Preston that saw star man Emi Buendia suffer an ankle injury. Buendia opened the scoring before Brad Potts’ deflected 95th-minute equaliser at Deepdale denied City the win. The depleted Canaries travelled without Max Aarons (ankle) and Dimitris Giannoulis (fatigue) following a grueling international period and Farke voiced his concerns about Argentinian’s availability for the Easter Tuesday visit of Huddersfield.
Though they still boast a healthy lead over Watford going into this game, you’d imagine Daniel Farke and Co will be starting to look over their shoulders, having dropped points in the last two games (D2). Moreover, Huddersfield are five unbeaten now and managed to keep Brentford’s talisman Ivan Toney quiet at the John Smith’s Stadium last time out. It’s questionable whether they’ll be able to do the same with Teemu Pukki and Emi Buendia, though, and this should be a comfortable victory for the Canaries.
As for Huddersfield, Carlos Corberan was ultimately disappointed not to take the three points, both because he felt his side defended poorly in the build-up to Mads Bech Sorensen’s goal and because they failed to make the most of their counter-attacking opportunities. Several players were unable to hide their frustrations on the final whistle, feeling they had blown an impressive victory rather than having picked up a bonus point.
However, all of that paints a reassuring picture of the mentality of the Terriers team. It’s a good sign for a side in Town’s position to come away from a game against a promotion contender ruing they took only one point, rather than considering it a bonus over a tricky Easter weekend where two defeats would have been forgivable. Town just need that bit of extra quality on the ball at the moment and will hope Alex Vallejo’s premature departure with a head injury will not keep him from the Norwich game.

Norwich meet Huddersfield looking for their first league double over the Terriers since the 2009/10 season in League One after celebrating a 1-0 win at Huddersfield in the reverse fixture in September. Norwich are unbeaten in their last 17 home league games (W12, D5), while Huddersfield have won just one of their last 14 away league games (D4, L9), winning 1-0 at QPR in March.
Norwich’s Teemu Pukki has scored five goals in his last five home league games and we expect him to cause all sorts of problems for the Terriers who visit the Carrow Road for the first time since December 2016.
