NORWICH VS NOTTINGHAM MATCH ANALYSIS
Norwich continue to struggle with injuries, but the Canaries are doing alright on the field nevertheless. The East Anglian side came from behind to beat Sheffield Wed 2-1 at the weekend and have now lost just one of their last 12 league games. They top the table with 31 points and are heading into the Nottingham match as favourites. As for Notts Forest, the Reds found themselves down to 10 men inside 15 minutes on Saturday afternoon as they ended losing 2-0 to Reading. Chris Hughton's men have just a single point from their last five league games, failing to score a goal in the process, which leaves them dangerously close to the relegation zone in the 21st place with 13 points.
Norwich's win over the Owls on Saturday keeps them top of the table for the time being, albeit by a single point. That said, anything but a win against a struggling Forest side on Wednesday could see them vacate the pole position and possibly fall down the standings to as low as fifth should they lose. One positive Norwich can take from their game at the weekend was that no further players have been added to the club’s extensive injury list.
On Saturday, Max Aarons, who returned from injury last week, scored his first goal in almost two years as the Canaries regained top spot in the league with a late comeback win over Sheffield Wed at Carrow Road. The Canaries had been trailing after Josh Windass headed home, but the hosts turned the game around in the last 10 minutes, with teenage substitute Josh Martin getting his first senior goal before full-back Aarons got the winner.
Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, despite their upturn in form upon Hughton’s appointment, are still sitting in 21st place, dangerously close to the relegation zone, and will be very aware of how hard it will be to drag themselves away from the drop. Notts Forest had two must-win games at home to fellow strugglers Coventry (2-1) and Wycombe (2-0) before the international break, and in hindsight, it was important they got maximum points there as their next five games, where they did not find the net, proved too tough (D1-L4).
In the most recent of those games, Lucas Joao scored for the fifth consecutive game for Reading as they made light work of 10-man Nottingham Forest in front of 2,000 fans at the Madejski Stadium. The visitors only had one effort on target and they remain 21st with their miserable run continuing. Otherwise, Ryan Yates will miss this game after he was sent off 15 minutes into the match, while Jack Colback will be assessed for fitness and Samba Sow could get more playing time after returning from injury.

Norwich have lost just one of their last 12 home league matches against the Reds (W7 D4), while Nottingham Forest have won one of their last seven Championship matches against Norwich (D2 L4).
Even though Norwich City head into Wednesday’s football game with a severely-weakened squad, a home win should be considered. Experienced attacker Teemu Pukki is expected to lead the line for the hosts.
The Reds, on the other hand, failed to find the net in the previous five league matches. They were not up to the task in a 2-0 defeat to Reading, and with an important midfielder Ryan Yates suspended for this match, while Bong, Colback, and Freeman remain sidelined, Chris Hughton’s men may wait a little more for their second away league win.
