Nottingham host Bournemouth at the City Ground (Nottingham) in the 29th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 12.30 pm (UK) on Saturday, February 13. Read our reasons for Nottingham vs Bournemouth prediction and betting tips.
After being undefeated in seven matches in all competitions (W4, D3), prior to their back-to-back defeats in the league and FA Cup – against Boro (2-1) and Swansea (5-1), Nottingham is back on winning ways, coming into this match unbeaten in three in the league. After a goalless draw against Barnsley, the reds picked up two precious away wins against fellow-strugglers Coventry (2-1) and Wycombe (3-0) and are four points from the bottom-three in 18th place. As for Bournemouth, the club parted ways with manager Jason Tindall after six months in charge after their slide in the Championship continued. However, they still remain in the play-off contention in 6th after winning 3-2 at home against Birmingham.
Nottingham Forest, despite their upturn in form upon Hughton’s appointment, are still sitting in 18th place, dangerously close to the relegation zone, and will be well aware of how hard it will be to drag themselves away from the drop. However, they are on the right track after losing only once in ten games (W5, D4). They had started a calendar year with two league wins in a row for the first time since 2010, and should they keep this momentum going, the Reds will soon secure safety.
Last Saturday, a veteran striker Glenn Murray scored twice on his full debut as Forest earned a clinical victory over bottom-of-the-table Wycombe. Wycombe responded impressively, with their aerial threat and power from set-pieces causing plenty of alarm, but the Reds, who have now lost just once in their past 10 Championship matches, held firm and went 2-0 up when Murray won and converted a penalty, with Anthony Knockaert crashing in a third.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, are the league’s second-best scoring team this season (43), with only Brentford (52) scoring more. It is a sign of doing something right despite their huge dip in form since mid-January which led to Tindall’s sack after a defeat against relegation candidates Sheffield Wed. Recent performances have been lacklustre, to say the least, with tactical direction seemingly lost, but also a host of individual errors, which Tindall couldn't control.
However, Philip Billing's late winner saw Bournemouth end a four-game losing run as caretaker manager Jonathan Woodgate led his side to victory over Birmingham City last Saturday. Moreover, they won 2-0 at Burnley in the Round 5 of the FA Cup in midweek, to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup for the first time in 64 years. The Cherries were deserved winners and have now won both of their games under caretaker-manager Jonathan Woodgate.

Nottingham meet Bournemouth in their 12th match overall. Both sides have registered 4 wins and the visitors are looking to make a league double over the Forest for the first time ever, having defeated the Reds 2-0 in a reverse fixture on November 24.
The January signing of experienced striker Glenn Murray could prove to be crucial for Nottingham, while they have also brought in midfielders James Garner and Filip Krovinovic on loan. Bournemouth, on the other hand, have strengthened their squad by signing Jack Wilshere, Shane Long, and Ben Pearson in January as they eye promotion.
