NOTTS FOREST VS MILLWALL MATCH ANALYSIS
Notts Forest head into this weekend after back-to-back wins in the league and in the Round 3 of the FA Cup. The Reds won 1-0 at Preston first, then knocked out Cardiff in the FA (1-0). After being undefeated in five (W2, D3) they are three points above the bottom-three in 19th place. As for the Lions, they come into this match on the back of a 1-2 league defeat to Coventry at home and a 1-2 FA Cup away win against National League side Boreham Wood. The visitors are three points above the hosts in 17th and will be hoping for their third back-to-back win in the league.
Nottingham Forest, despite their upturn in form upon Hughton’s appointment, are still sitting in 19th place, dangerously close to the relegation zone, and will be well aware of how hard it will be to drag themselves away from the drop. Fortunately, they are on the right track after being unbeaten in six in all competitions. Against Preston, Forest had the better of things, looking comfortable in defense and getting into numerous promising situations, but without creating much and had to wait for a Lewis Grabban's second-half and earned a sixth Championship victory of the season for the improving Nottingham Forest. The win was, nevertheless, massive in terms of the result and gave them the confidence to end their awful recent run against Cardiff (lost the last six at home) and equally bad run in the FA Cup (lost seven from nine) to reach the 4th round. Coming into this game their morale should be sky-high.
Millwall, on the other hand, ended their ten-game winless run with a 2-0 victory away at Bristol and drew against Nottingham next, but the results weren’t that much of a catalyst for their re-ascent to the upper echelons of the table. They cannot get back into the top half with a win this weekend, but another three points would go a long way to rectifying their hot-and-cold recent form. The Lions showed earlier in the season that they can turn on the pace when required, so pretty much anything can happen at the weekend. Millwall were leapfrogged by Coventry Coventry, who were without a goal or win in four games going into this fixture. They were given a lifeline with 16 minutes remaining when Wallace halved the two-goal lead with his sixth goal of the season. However, their chances of salvaging a point evaporated when he was dismissed in second-half injury time. Luckily, they didn’t allow another upset in the FA Cup next, with a hard-fought win at National League side Boreham Wood.

Notts Forest are winless in six Championship matches against Millwall (D3 L3) since a 1-0 win in August 2017. However, Forest’s manager Chris Hughton is unbeaten in all four of his Championship matches against Millwall (W2 D2) and will hope to give the Lions a start to a calendar year with two league wins in a row for the first time since 2010.
Millwall will have their say in it too, as they have had an upper hand recently at the City Ground, winning four of their last six away league matches against Nottingham Forest (D1 L1), winning 3-0 last season. All eyes will be on Shaun Williams, who has scored in three of his last four league matches against Nottingham Forest, netting three goals.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
