NOTTINGHAM VS WATFORD MATCH ANALYSIS
Chris Hughton has drawn three and won three of his first eight league games in charge at Forest and lost only once (1-0 to Middlesbrough) before the international break. However, the break did not bring any positives for the Reds, as they lost both away games after the restart, and their home match against Swansea (0-1) on Sunday, which means that they have fallen down to 21st place with 12 points after three defeats on the trot. As for Watford, the Hornets recorded two consecutive home 3-2 wins against Stoke and Coventry in rounds 10 and 11, but followed it with back-to-back draws against QPR (1-1) and Bristol (0-0), before dispatching Preston (4-1) at home on Saturday. Their five-game unbeaten run (W3-D2) puts them in 3rd place with 26 points ahead of this match.
Despite their upturn in form upon Hughton’s appointment, Forest are still sitting in 21st place, dangerously close to the relegation zone, and will be very aware of how hard it will be to drag themselves away from the drop. Notts Forest had two must-win games at home to fellow strugglers Coventry (2-1) and Wycombe (2-0) before the break, and in hindsight, it was important they got maximum points there as their next three games proved too tough. They lost 2-0 to Barnsley and Bournemouth on the road and suffered their third consecutive league defeat at home at the hands of Swansea.
They were beaten at the City Ground for the first time under Chris Hughton, who had taken eight points from his four previous home games. Swansea have the best defensive record in English football's top four divisions, and the Reds were putting pressure on Swansea's defense for much of the first half. However, after conceding at the stroke of the first-half, they could not mount a comeback and break the solid Swansea's defense after the match resumed. The Reds will eye to bounce back, but the game against the Hornets will be anything but a walk in the park for the out-of-form hosts.
Watford, on the other hand, are definitely looking to get back immediately to the top flight and hope that a new manager Vladimir Ivic can set the foundations for their quick return to Premier League. Even with the likes of Dele-Bashiru, Masina, Perica, and Success still sidelined, the Hornets are doing alright, which is a huge sign of the quality of their set-up. Having lost ground on the title-chasers following a relatively poor run of form, they got back in the mix after three consecutive home wins, and two away draws.
Their latest win moved them up to third in the league with an emphatic performance against struggling Preston. The Hornets have picked up 19 points from a possible 21 at Vicarage Road this season and had no problems overcoming a side that boasted the second-best away record in the Championship. With a win on Wednesday, they could go top of the table.

The last meeting between Nottingham Forest and Watford in any competition was in January 2016 in the FA Cup, a 1-0 win for the Hornets.
Forest failed to find the net in the previous three league fixtures, meaning that the lack of confidence could prove to be a big problem for them in the midweek clash.
Forest are on a dire run and without several key players – Grabban, Sow, and Freeman, while their opponents will be without forward Andre Gray suffered an injury in the 4-1 win over Preston.
Watford have managed to win only one of their last 15 league games away from home in both the Premier League and Championship, with their sole victory in seven games this season coming at Derby back in October (D4 L2).

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
