PSG host Manchester United in the 1st round of the new Champions League campaign at Parc des Princes (Paris) on Tuesday, October 20 and the match kicks off at 8pm (UK).

The French team lost the finals against Bayern Munich in the last Champions League campaign, but that won’t prevent them from trying to win the most prominent club competition in the world. As for Unite, they are still struggling, and the Reds Devils aren’t a shadow of the former self which harassed the entire continent with Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm. However, the last time these two sides met, United made a fantastic comeback to knock out PSG from the Champions League.
MATCH ANALYSIS
The Saints were disappointed following a loss in the finals, but they won’t surrender as we said it already. PSG have not strengthen the squad too much, adding several fringe players players who won’t immediately become the leaders, but will add a certain depth to the team.
PSG won’t have any particular troubles in Ligue 1, where they are a good measure above the rest of the teams, and barely have any competition at all. With Neymar and Mbappe upfront, this team have one of the most frightening strike-force in the world, and it is normal to expect goals each time they get on the pitch. When playing at home, the Saints are pretty much ruthless, regardless of who is their opponent on the night.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are enduring a difficult start to the new Premier League campaign, with their 6-1 home defeat to Spurs before the international break being the most recent blow. However, they’ll be hoping to pull off the same sort of victory they recorded on their last visit to Paris, when the Red Devils pulled off a historic 3-1 win over PSG to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit, with Marcus Rashford’s late penalty still fresh in memory. But this particular clash could prove to be even more difficult for United, with the Parisians now getting a taste of Champions League success having reached last season’s final.Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Co will want to go one step further in this season’s competition and are in red-hot form in Ligue 1.

Paris SG have lost none of their 24 home UEFA Champions League group stage matches since the start of the 2012/13 season (W19 D5). Their last home defeat at this stage was in December 2004 against CSKA Moscow (1-3).
Manchester United have lost four of their last five UEFA Champions League matches (W1), including each of the last two.
With the current morale in and around United’s locker room, we would be very surprised to see them winning this match, or even getting out with a draw. The Red Devils have only lost three consecutive European Cup/Champions League games once previously, losing three in a row between December 2004 and March 2005.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city.
