Holders Bayern Munich is still without Robert Lewandowski for their must-win UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg away to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday. Read our reasons for Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern Munich prediction and betting tips.
Lewandowski told the media over the weekend he won't be taking any risks after sitting out last week's 3-2 loss in Munich with a knee injury sustained on international duty with Poland. The 2020 FIFA Best Men's Player would be a loss for any side - he was instrumental in Bayern’s clean sweep of six trophies in the last year and has been in the imperious form again this campaign with a personal best haul of 35 goals in the Bundesliga - but the European champions have the means to cope. Former PSG striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Thomas Müller were on target in the first leg - a game which Bayern could have won by a landslide after rattling off 31 attempts on goal. Joshua Kimmich created 10 chances in that first game, the most in a Champions League quarter-final since Mesut Özil for Real Madrid against Tottenham Hotspur in April 2012. Leroy Sane began Saturday's 1-1 draw with Union Berlin on the bench, with Alphonso Davies another regular afforded a full recharge over the weekend due to a domestic suspension.
Niklas Süle and Serge Gnabry are out, but head coach Hansi Flick has intimated Kingsley Coman and Jerome Boateng - who picked up knocks - should be fit. Lucas Hernandez and Leon Goretzka will be given all the time they need to prove their fitness, though Jamal Musiala is proving himself to be a top-level replacement for the latter. Scoring his fifth competitive goal of the campaign against Union, the 18-year-old has thrown his hat into the ring for a match Bayern likely needs to win by at least two clear goals to progress to the semi-finals.
PSG: Rico - Dagba, Danilo, Kimpembe (c), Bakker - Gueye, Paredes - Di Maria, Neymar, Draxler - Mbappe
Out: Bernat (knee), Marquinhos (groin)
Doubtful: Florenzi (not included), Icardi (thigh), Kurzawa (calf), Navas (muscular), Verratti (not included)
Coach: Mauricio Pochettino
PSG has personnel troubles of their own. The difference between a fortuitous win and a heavy loss in Munich, first-choice goalkeeper Keylor Navas was substituted off early in the defending Ligue 1 champions' 4-1 win at Strasbourg on Saturday and is a major doubt. Influential defender Marquinhos misses out with a groin injury sustained in the first leg, while left-back Layvin Kurzawa is another big question mark. With ex-Bundesliga faces Juan Bernat out and Abdou Diallo struggling for fitness, 20-year-old Mitchel Bakker has the unenviable task of trying to stop Bayern No.10 Sane. Alessandro Florenzi is the preferred option on the opposite flank, though the Italian may have to settle for the bench after only returning to training this past weekend following a spell in quarantine.
The same logic applies to Marco Verratti, meaning Idrissa Gueye will likely partner the returning Leandro Paredes in central midfield. German international Julian Draxler was a surprise starter at the Allianz Arena and could continue alongside Neymar and Angel Di Maria in an attacking three behind Kylian Mbappe sure to be feeling the weight of PSG's last Champions League knockout bottle jobs against the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona, and Manchester United. As well, Coman, Choupo-Moting, and Tanguy Nianzou are former PSG players. In Draxler, Diallo, Kehrer and Bernat, Paris have four with Bundesliga experience.
Bayern: Neuer (c) - Pavard, Boateng, Alaba, Davies - Kimmich, Musiala - Sane, Müller, Coman - Choupo-Moting
Out: Costa (metatarsal), Gnabry (not included), Lewandowski (knee), Süle (thigh), Tolisso (thigh)
Doubtful: Goretzka (thigh), Hernandez (abdominal), Hoffmann (knee), Roca (knock)
Coach: Hansi Flick

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
