Milan has said goodbye to Scudetto's dreams and now has to start looking over their shoulder, as this is a tricky trip to desperate Parma. Read our reasons for Parma vs Milan prediction and betting tips.
Parma remains in penultimate place, but the safety zone is within reach if they can get a run of wins together. That might be difficult, as the injury crisis remains extraordinary for coach Roberto D’Aversa, but the talent is still there and they beat Roma 2-0 just last month. Parma fought back twice, and had a goal disallowed, as Dennis Man’s late volley proved enough to take a point off Benevento. The deadlock was broken on 23 minutes when Federico Barba jumped to knock down a long free-kick, finding Kamil Glik to react quicker than the Parma players for a tap-in. It was Poland international’s first goal in the Benevento jersey. Juraj Kucka stung Lorenzo Montipò’s gloves from distance, while Gianluca Lapadula tested Luigi Sepe after combining with Adolfo Gaich. After a save on Gervinho, Parma equalized from the resulting corner, as Montipò parried the Mattia Bani header, but not the Jasmin Kurtic follow-up.
Parma thought they had turned it around with Riccardo Gagliolo’s header at the back post on a corner, but it was disallowed after VAR viewing, seemingly for offside. Instead, Benevento restored their advantage six minutes later, on another corner, this time Artur Ionuta’s bullet header on Gianluca Caprari’s set to play. Parma would not give in and Busi skimmed the woodwork before an 88th-minute equalizer when Andreas Cornelius knocked down the long ball for a wonderful Dennis Man left-foot volley. The Ducali nearly won it at the death in a chaotic move, as Osorio’s header was saved, Cornelius follow-up cleared off the line and Man fired over from close range. Parma was effectively down to nine men at the time, as Man and Andrea Conti clashed heads.

The Rossoneri are now 11 points adrift of leaders Inter and the 1-1 home draw with Sampdoria was the final blow to their title ambitions. The race for the Champions League spots is now incredibly close, as they are just four points clear of Napoli in fifth, with Juventus and Atalanta breathing right down their necks. Milan coach Stefano Pioli admitted his men ‘did too little’ to beat Sampdoria in the 1-1 draw on Saturday. ‘It was a complicated match’. The Rossoneri returned from the international break with a draw against the Blucerchiati at San Siro but we were close to claiming all the spoils when Franck Kessie hit the woodwork in stoppages. “I agree [we did too little],” Pioli told MilanTV. “Even if we could have won it with Kessie at the end. “We did too little, we played without rhythm and our approach was not the right one. It was a complicated match for us.”
Fabio Quagliarella took advantage of a poor pass from Theo Hernandez and lobbed Gigio Donnarumma for the first goal, and Pioli said the visitors played as they did in the first leg. “Sampdoria played in the same way they played in the first leg,” Pioli said. “There was less rhythm, we favored their defense, which was well organized. I find it hard to be happy. The performance had to be different, there were all the right situations to play with more intensity and quality. This must make us disappointed and embittered, now we must show that we can start again immediately.”
Milan (4-2-3-1): G Donnarumma; Dalot, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic
Suspended: None
Injured: Calabria, Romagnoli, Maldini

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
