Parma (4-2-3-1) faces Napoli (4-3-3) at Ennio Tardini Stadium in Parma in the first round of Serie A 2020/21 on Sunday 20 September 2020 at 12:30.
Parma will have their first test in this new season against Napoli at their home ground this Sunday. They are coming from a not bad previous season, since they ended on 11th place. This will be a hard game for them, since they will face one of the best Italian teams, so they should better come prepared to this one. They won't give any discount to them, and they will try to do anything to bring home at least a draw.
After 3 long years, Roberto D'Aversa won't be on Parma's bench for this new season, they recently decided to sign former Lecce's coach, Fabio Liverani, who will live another experience in Serie A. He believes in the potential of his new players, and he also believes that they will stop their next opponents this Sunday. He knows he can count on all of his players, starting from Slovakian midfielder Juraj “Kuco” Kucka (6 goals and 3 assists in Serie A 2019/20), to use his grit to bring some fear in Napoli's players, just like legendary Ivorian wing Gervinho (7 goals and 4 assists in Serie A 2019/20), who can be very dangerous on both sides of the pitch, with his skills and mostly with his velocity. Last but not least, Danish Andreas Cornelius (12 goals and 3 assists in Serie A 2019/20), club's main scorer in the previous season, who will probably be Napoli's biggest problem.
As we take a look to the away team, we have Napoli, who will be the host in their first match in Serie A of this new season. They are coming from a messy previous season, where the players at the begging had some problems with their former coach Carlo Ancelotti, but since the new one came, former AC Milan's coach Gennaro Gattuso, a lot of things changed. They may not ended between the 4 best clubs in the ranking, but on the other hand they managed to bring home the famous Coppa Italia, by beating in the Finals their historical rivals Juventus.
This Sunday they will start a new season, so they should better come focused in Parma and bring back home in Napoli 3 important points, to start in the right way this new journey. Their coach, Gennaro Gattuso, believes in all of his players, starting from Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz (3 goals and 6 assists in Serie A 2019/20), to create some dangerous attempts, just like his teammate, almost a Napoli's legend, Italian left wing Lorenzo Insigne (8 goals and 6 assists in Serie A 2019/20), who is known for his abilities with the ball between his legs. This Sunday we will have the opportunity to see on the pitch Napoli's most expensive purchase, Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen (13 goals and 4 assists in Ligue1 with Lille OSC 2019/20), who will have the opportunity the prove why Napoli wanted him so badly. Parma's defenders should better keep their eyes on him.
This will be the 37th time they face each other. Napoli is leading with 15 victories, instead of Parma who has won 14 times. There are also 7 draws. The last time they have faced each other was in the second half of the previous season, Parma won (Parma 2-1 Napoli).

This match will be full of goal chances. Both teams will spend most of the time by attacking each other and trying to score, since this will be the first game of this new season. Napoli will be more offensive, instead of Parma who will be more defensive, they will try to take advantage of some Napoli's mistakes to create some dangerous attempts and trying to score.
After all I said about those two teams and the match, I would think Napoli will win this one
So my final Parma vs Napoli Prediction is : Napoli to win

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
