QPR VS BLACKBURN MATCH ANALYSIS
QPR come into this match on the back of three wins and a single defeat in the league against Derby at home (0-1). They ended a nine-game run winless run (D4, L5) in the league with those two victories and now they are three wins in four after handing automatic-promotion candidates, Watford, a surprising 2-1 home defeat. However, the Hoops still remain dangerously close to the bottom-three in 17th place. As for Blackburn, they have been blowing hot and cold recently, but they have now strung two wins together for the first time in their last nine games (W4, D2, L3). Their match against Swansea was canceled due to a waterlogged pitch, which gave them much-needed rest to regroup for the weekend ahead and push closer to the play-off berths with back-to-back 1-0 wins at Middlesbrough and against Luton at home. They are heading into this weekend in 7th, hoping they could end up in the top-six.
The west Londoners scored 67 goals in last season's Championship campaign - a figure beaten only by Leeds, West Brom, Brentford, and Cardiff. However, 40 of these goals came from Eberechi Eze, Jordan Hugill, and Nahki Wells, all of whom now play their football elsewhere. They are still fun to watch, but this campaign has proven so far that they will struggle without those three. However, the win at Watford last time out, where they scored two, can bode well for the rest of the campaign.
They came from behind to clinch a late win at Watford and dent the Hornets' automatic promotion bid in the Championship. Troy Deeney smashed home from the penalty spot to put the hosts ahead, but Charlie Austin headed in Chris Willock's cross to level. And Albert Adomah's composed finish in the 90th minute saw Rangers end Watford's four-match unbeaten run. The Hoops' third straight away win lifts them to 17th and seven points clear of the relegation zone.
On the other hand, Blackburn, a name which has been quite big in the English footballing scene for the past two decades, find themselves in the 7th spot with 39 points from 26 games played – a not so great record considering their excellent start to the season. The Rovers might seem to be struggling at the moment with 4 wins in 10 Championship games, but have shown their defensive prowess in the last few rounds, having consistently held the games below 2.5 goals in most of them (7/8).
That has also been the case against Luton last time out, where top scorer Adam Armstrong grabbed a late winner -his 17th league goal of the season - as Blackburn overcame Luton in a tight game at Ewood Park. Tyrhys Dolan went close to scoring twice as the home side made a raft of changes on the hour mark, but it was Armstrong who finally found the net four minutes from time. The Rovers are the leagues second top-scorers (41) and with an in-form Armstrong and a Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliot at the heart of everything in the final third, they could prove too much for QPR’s defense next.

QPR are without a home win in six matches in all competitions (D1, L5) and, what’s worse, haven’t scored a single goal at the Loftus Road in the last five fixtures. Blackburn, who had dominated recently with 11 wins to QPR’s 2 in the last 20 meetings, come into this match on the back of two away wins and have both scored and conceded four in their last five matches.
Both teams’ ten most recent games combined have averaged over 2.5 goals only once, while both teams scored in those matches only twice. QPR may want the win more to end their dreadful run at home, while visitors will be eyeing their third win on the road and the 6th place.
