QPR host Fulham at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium (London) in the Round Three of the FA Cup and the match kicks off at 3 pm (UK) on Saturday, January 9.
QPR VS FULHAM MATCH ANALYSIS
The host are coming into this FA Cup tie having not won any of their last nine Championship games, drawing four and losing five of those matches. The 1-1 away draw with Norwich on December 29, left them in 19th, dangerously close to the drop zone. However, they had a week's rest ahead of this game as their last league match against Luton on Saturday was postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak in Luton’s squad. Now a Premier League side, Fulham have had even more rest. After four consecutive draws, they haven’t played a match since they share the spoils with Southampton at home on December 26.
The west Londoners scored 67 goals in last season's Championship campaign - a figure beaten only by Leeds, West Brom, Brentford, and Cardiff. However, 40 of these goals came from Eberechi Eze, Jordan Hugill, and Nahki Wells, all of whom now play their football elsewhere. They are still fun to watch, but this campaign has proven so far that they will struggle without those three.
QPR are winless for more than a month in the Championship (D4, L5) failing to score in four. Low scoring is a constant theme, with two-thirds of QPR’s 21 Championship matches producing under 2.5 total goals, including their last seven matches. Last season in the FA Cup they won Round Three 5-1 against Swansea but were knocked out by Sheffield Wed (1-2) in the next round at home, as well.
Fulham, on the other hand, enter 2021 in the bottom three regardless of their slightly improved but still disappointing December form (D4, L1). The last season's play-off winners in the Championship have been exposed for all their shortcomings and weaknesses so far in the league and will have to raise their game significantly in the new calendar year if they want to avoid relegation. If their attackers could step up their game, they could start with a win here and start a new calendar year on a more positive note.
The Cottagers are unbeaten in four in the league, drawing all four, but have won only one of their seven away games in England's top tier this term. Scott Parker's side have improved, especially at the back, but they still can't win games - which is why they are still in the bottom three. As for their last year’s campaign in the Fa Cup,, they were better than Aston Villa in Round Three (2-1), but then comfortably lost to Man City (4-0) at the next stage.

Historically, QPR have been eliminated in all three previous FA Cup ties with Fulham, losing in 1905/06, 1971/72, and 1978/79. On the other hand, QPR have progressed from the FA Cup third round in each of their last two seasons, last managing that feat in three consecutive seasons between 1994/95 and 1996/97.
As for Fulham, they have won five of their last seven away matches against QPR (D1 L1), with all wins coming in the league between 2001 and 2020. They haven’t seen much FA Cup glory recently, as they have lost four of their last five FA Cup matches (W1), losing their most recent match 4-0 away at Manchester City in last season’s fourth round.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
