QPR host Wycombe at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium (London) in the rescheduled 24th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 7 pm (UK) on Tuesday, March 9. Read our reasons for QPR vs Wycombe prediction and betting tips.
QPR deserve a lot of credit for their upturn in fortunes following their return to winning ways at Bristol on Saturday. Since a 2-0 victory at Luton in January, QPR have picked up 22 points from their last 33 available, including four wins and one draw from their last six on the road, to move up the Championship table and pull away from relegation zone. As for Wycombe, after losing three games on the trot by the same 2-0 score - the latest one being against Stoke on Saturday – they remain second from the bottom, battling it out with Sheffield Wed for the honour of not being the worst team in the league.
The Hoops have had a lot of turnover of players in the last two years. They lost Nahki to Bristol, Eberechi Eze to Crystal Palace, Jordan Hugill to Norwich. They are losing big players and 50-odd goals out of the team, so it’s been a real turnaround and QPR deserve a lot of credit for the way they have adapted. They’ve had some really good performances, but didn’t win for 10 games. Bristol, Brentford away we were outstanding, but the Hoops didn’t get anything out of the games. The margins of the Championship are so fine, that the win against Bristol at the weekend was more than welcome.
First half goals from Ilias Chair and Rob Dickie were enough to secure all three points for Mark Warburton’s side, ending a run of three games without a win (D1, L2). That result means that Rangers are now 16th in the Championship table, 11 points clear of the relegation zone and well ahead of what could become a congested battle to avoid relegation. Warburton's team still possess a game in hand on their rivals, and they could find themselves as high as 12th position come the full-time whistle on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, Wanderers failed to make the most of a good spell either side of half-time at Stoke on Saturday, with Josh Knight and Admiral Muskwe both coming close to an opener. They paid the price for not taking their chances and never looked like getting back into it after falling behind. However, Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth insists his side will not concede defeat in their relegation battle following the latest defeat.
Wycombe collected deserved victories over Huddersfield and Reading in recent weeks, but found Norwich, Watford, and the Potters too strong in their last three outings, all without troubling the scoresheet. Consequently, the division minnows have been left 12 points off the pace and with rivals Rotherham still having two games in hand. Ainsworth will be realistic about pulling off one of English football's greatest escape acts, but it will not stop him from demanding the maximum from his squad.

QPR meet Wycombe having not hosted the Chairboys for a league match since September 2003, drawing 0-0. On the other hand, Wycombe are looking for their first league win over QPR since 2002. The reverse fixture in December ended 1-1.
QPR are winless in nine league matches (D4 L5), last enduring a longer run between May and November 2012 when they were in the Premier League (17 games), while Wycombe's last away league clean sheet came in February 2020 in League One against Bolton Wanderers.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
