Reading host Stoke at the Madejski Stadium (Reading) in the 11th round of the Championship on Saturday, November 7 and the match kicks off at 12.30pm (UK).
READING VS STOKE MATCH ANALYSIS
The Royals maintained their almost perfect start to their Championship season over eight weeks with seven wins and only one draw. They were the only Championship side without a defeat in the league alongside Bournemouth until the 9th round, but then they suffered two defeats on the trot against Coventry (3-2) and Preston at home (0-3). However, they remained top of the league with 22 points ahead of the weekend.
As for Stoke, they head into this match sitting in the 10th place with 15 points after suffering their third defeat of the season away at Watford (3-2). After their unbeaten run of seven games (W5-D2), they lost two matches out of the last three, winning only against Rotherham at home (1-0) in the 9th round. However, they remain upbeat as coach O’Neill said in the aftermath of the Watford match.
Reading are top of the league, with a three-point lead after 10 weeks, even though they lost their last two matches. It could be that Royals have finally found the elusive X-factor from the previous seasons in the form of the huge team-work, where everybody knows and understands their role, and especially the ability to adapt during the games. Their identity is still forging, but they have a game plan and they stick to it.
The win against Watford in the 4th round marked the club's best start since the 1985-86 season and so far they are doing alright.Reading suffered a second successive defeat as Preston inflicted a first home league loss of the campaign on the leaders. The Royals remain three points clear at the top, but lacked the attacking edge against Preston that had seen them win seven of their first eight games.
The Potters, on the other hand, aim to make amends for a 3-2 loss to Watford. Stoke City are not regarded as good travelers, but they are surely capable of matching the out-of-form Royals at Madejski Stadium. Their results have been strangely hectic as they are yet to follow up one Championship result with a repeat in their next game at any point this league campaign (W4, D3, L3). Following that logic, they should take at least a point from Reading after a defeat against the Hornets.
As for the midweek game against Watford, Ismaila Sarr scored a stoppage-time goal as Watford left Stoke heart-broken. Sarr found the net from Ken Sema's pass to settle a see-saw game where the lead changed hands three times. However, they will now have to move on from that disappointment and focus on their visit to stuttering Reading.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
