Reading host Watford in the fourth week of the Championship at the Madejski Stadium (Reading) on Saturday, October 3 and the match kicks off at 3pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
Two quick goals before half-time helped Reading to a routine win over Derby County at Pride Park on the opening day and their 2-0 victory in the second week against nine-man Barnsley was their first home Championship win since the end of February. The Royals maintained their perfect start to their Championship season with victory at Cardiff City (1-2) and are now joint-top of the league with Bristol.
Watford are not too far away in the fifth place with seven points. Their two home victories against Middlesbrough and Luton were narrow 1-0 wins and draw against Sheffield was a goalless affair. They haven't exactly set the league on fire on their return, but they haven't conceded yet either. Those were three solid performances and they are definitely building the momentum.
MATCH ANALYSIS
Reading are 2nd in the table on goal difference below Bristol City after three consecutive wins and three clean sheets. For the Royals, that elusive X-factor from the previous seasons could be the huge team-work, where everybody knows and understands their role, and especially the ability to adapt during the games. Their identity is still forging, but they have a game plan and they stick to it.
Worth mentioning is that fit-again Lucas Joao will be like a new signing for manager Veljko Paunovic, as the Royals are building their momentum. To further boost his options, Paunovic have signed young Everton defender Gibson on a season-loan and Atletico Madrid's midfielder Rodrigo Riquelme is also closing in on a loan move. Both should be good additions as Paunovic's side are looking to make it four successive wins in the league and to retain their spot at the summit after the Watford match on Saturday.
Now, Watford almost managed to stay up last season, but it wasn’t meant to be, as the Hornets ended their five-year stay in the Premier League. They are back in the Championship and in former Serbian international Vladimir Ivić have a relatively unknown new manager. They are definitely looking to get back immediately to top flight and will hope that a new manager can set the foundations to their quick return to Premier League.
Vladimir Ivic's Hornets are still yet to concede in the league this season and have seven points from three games, bouncing back from their surprise midweek Carabao Cup defeat against League Two side Newport (3-1). Another positive to take from the Luton match was a first start of the season to Ismaila Sarr, who was heavily linked with Liverpool and who will now be a massively important player for Ivic's side.He said afterwards that this was a much better performance than the previous ones. With that in mind, they will be a tough opponent for the leaders on Saturday.

Wyatt grew up in the suburbs of London and he is a big Chelsea fan. As a young boy, he found his love for football, which became an obsession, but when he tried playing it he soon realized that he just wasn't talented enough. Bearing that in mind, Wyatt decided to learn everything there is to know about all the teams and players, with special focus on Premier League and Championship . Wyatt has a big affection for Championship and he is well versed in all the teams and knows their advantages and weak spots very well. He is an economist, and being one makes him good with numbers and also good with the odds. His specialty are BTTS matches.
