Roma wants a comfortable win at the Stadio Olimpico but visiting Benevento had a great start of the season and score with ease with Pippo Inzaghi on the bench.
Roma want all the three points against Benevento and tradition is on their side, they have won each one of their last 23 games against newly-promoted teams and nobody has a better record in Serie A. Edin Dzeko has yet to score his first goal of the season but a spectacular strike from Pedro Rodriguez proved enough to give Roma their first victory of the season.
The Giallorossi were not started a season on a high note after a 0-0 draw against Verona that turned to defeat after an administrative error but drawing 2-2 with 10-man Juventus, without Javier Pastore and Nicolò Zaniolo gave them a confidence boost for the away win that came by a moment of magic from Pedro, his first Serie A goal. Udinese gave it away cheaply after the ten minutes in the second half, and Spaniard hit a rocket from outside the box that swerved around Juan Musso to bounce in off the inside of the near post.
Roma is without Amadou Diawara who tested positive for Covid earlier this week and Chris Smalling who has suffered a mild strain at his left knee. Rick Karsdorp is also in doubt for the game while Javier Pastore and Nicolò Zaniolo are injured.
Roma (3-4-2-1): Mirante; Ibanez, Mancini, Kumbulla; Santon, Veretout, Lo. Pellegrini, Spinazzola; Pedro, Mkhitaryan; Dzeko

Injured: Diawara, Pastore, Zaniolo, Smalling
Benevento had a great start to the season with six points in their first three Serie A games. Pippo Inzaghi team won 3-2 at Sampdoria and lost 5-2 to Inter and they had problems before the game vs Bologna with Nicolas Viola, Federico Barba, and Andres Tello out of action. Good performance from goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò boosted their confidence after the opening minutes. The Benevento shot-stopper proved decisive when Andreas Skov-Olsen was sent clear in a one-on-one situation by Soriano’s slide-rule pass. Montipò made some mistakes this season, but he was on top form denying Skov Olsen from point-blank range, while Kamil Glik also made a decisive tackle. Benevento won thanks to a corner, Gianluca Lapadula got in front of Aaron Hickey to volley in from six yards.
Bologna pushed to the very end, but Montipò had a great game and kept out Nicola Sansone’s strike from the edge of the box too and, when he was beaten, Barrow turned over the bar. Gabriele Moncini, Federico Barba, and Andres Tello are out of action with muscle injuries while Nicolas Viola has a problem with his left knee and is also going to miss the game.

Injured: Viola, Moncini, Barba, Tello

It should be a very interesting game with Benevento willing to play as attacking as they can. Roma needs some consistency if they want European places at the end of the season and this match is must-win for them. Both teams to score looks like a decent value bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
