Roma sits third in the Serie A table, three points off second-placed Inter, ahead of their meeting at the Stadio Olimpico in the lunchtime match on Sunday.
Paulo Fonseca said Roma doesn’t need to change their system to let Edin Dzeko ad Borja Mayoral play together and warned Inter ahead of their upcoming Serie A meeting. The Spaniard scored twice in Roma’s 3-1 away win at Crotone, but can he play with Edin Dzeko? Roma regular team captain entered as a substitute in the last 10 minutes and got his rest ahead of the derby of the closest rivals of the league leaders Milan.
The Giallorossi had a difficult trip to Calabria, as coach Paulo Fonseca had to wait until the morning to join the team, requiring an extra COVID-19 swab the day before. The night before the game, Roma director Morgan De Sanctis was involved in a serious car accident night and the former goalkeeper underwent surgery. Italian media reported 43-year-old was involved in an accident on Via Cristoforo Colombo and he had fractured ribs and abdomen surgery. He is still in the intensive care after a successful operation.
On the match day, everything was much better for Roma as Borja Mayoral bagged a brace, including a ferocious strike from distance into the top corner, as Roma ran riot against Crotone. The Spaniard was center-stage, as he scored two goals and earned the penalty converted by Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Crotone got one back after the breakthrough Vladimir Golemic’s free header and was unlucky not to add another, denied by the Bruno Peres goal-line clearance.
Roma (3-4-2-1): Pau Lopez; Ibanez, Smalling, Mancini; Karsdorp, Villar, Veretout, Spinazzola; Lo Pellegrini, Mkhitaryan; Dzeko
Suspended: none
Injured: Calafiori, Santon, Zaniolo, Pedro
On a yellow card: Ibanez, Cristante
Antonio Conte felt ‘Lady Luck forgot about’ Inter in their 2-1 defeat to Sampdoria. ‘We deserved more, it was a strange match.’ Alexis Sanchez saw an early penalty saved, then Antonio Candreva converted a spot-kick before Keita Balde Diao’s winner. The Stefan de Vrij header in the second half was too late to turn things around, ending the run of eight Serie A wins on the bounce. Inter badly missed Romelu Lukaku, who was only fit enough for a role off the bench due to a muscular issue.
Considering all the chances they create and indeed convert, Inter does very well going forward with strikers, midfielders, and also the defenders. What they lacked this season perhaps was a little bit of balance, where they conceded too many goals, but there could not be many complaints on their attacking play and the way how they occupy the penalty area.
Inter (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Hakimi, Barella, Brozovic, Vidal, Darmian; Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez
Suspended: none
Injured: Vecino, D’Ambrosio
On a yellow card: Brozovic

Regarding their playing styles and problems in the defense, both teams to score looks like as close as the sure betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
