Both teams have scored in the last 10 Serie A games between Sampdoria and Fiorentina, on Sunday they clash at the Marassi.
Sampdoria is 10th in the table ahead of the match and won 2-1 at the Artemio Franchi in the reverse fixture. Sampdoria coach Claudio Ranieri wants his men to show ‘determination’ against Fiorentina on Sunday. ‘I know this team can do more’. Ranieri wants to bounce back from a disappointing 1-1 draw with Benevento last time. “The result is the result of a thousand things, but we have to fight to the end, be determined. “I know them, I know what they can give me and in Benevento, we waited too long. I want that heart, that determination, that mutual help, and the will to give our all in every situation.”
The Blucerchiati coach said he expects a tough fight against Fiorentina at the Marassi on Sunday. “Fiorentina is an opponent with water in their throats,” he continued. “President [Rocco] Commisso said that they want nine points from their next three games. I remember both the first leg and the one from last season. Last year’s match was incredible. We lost 3-0 in 10 men without them having a shot on target. Two penalties and an own goal. It was a really strange game, but I liked it. The team tried to score until the end, and we did with [Manolo] Gabbiadini. It was worth nothing, but that’s the spirit of the team that didn’t want to lose.”
Sampdoria: Audero; Bereszynski, Yoshida, Colley, Augello; Candreva, Silva, Ekdal, Jankto; Keita, Quagliarella
Suspended: Tonelli
Injured: Gabbiadini
Cesare Prandelli’s men are looking for momentum and hope to start climbing the table, currently sitting five points behind the Blucerchiati and seven points above relegation. He wanted to ‘forget’ the 2-0 defeat to Inter immediately after the game and to focus on ‘saving ourselves’. Prandelli admitted Inter ‘deserved to win’, but felt the home side responded well after conceding the first goal. “We had a good reaction to the first goal, then after the second we opened up too much,” Prandelli told media. “But we must recognize the strength of a team that has technique, physique, and depth. Inter deserved the win.”
Prandelli, who had to cope without a host of key players, including a late setback for Martin Caceres. “It all depends on us. If we are aware of our limits, we can play good matches,” he said. “But it’s a strange, particular championship, where you often prepare the match and then you have changes to make for many reasons. A team is born in a certain way and it’s not easy to fix it. Now we must forget about this game quickly and think about the next direct clash. We must think about saving ourselves, that is the only goal.”
Fiorentina: Dragowski; Milenkovic, Pezzella, Igor; Caceres, Bonaventura, Borja Valero, Castrovilli, Biraghi; Ribery, Vlahovic
Suspended: Amrabat
Injured: none

The inconsistency has been the biggest difficulty for both sides this term and both are looking to bounce back from two consecutive games without a win. Sampdoria hasn’t drawn back-to-back games since September 2017. Their last game ended 1-1 with Benevento. Both teams to score is the most reasonable betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
