Juventus seem to have hit their groove with a run of wins, the absentee list has been whittled down, but they visit a Sampdoria side that won three of the last four.
Samp is in good shape, with back-to-back victories over Parma and Udinese to propel them into mid-table comfort. There had been reports Juve wanted Fabio Quagliarella to join them in January, but the veteran is settling into a new partnership with Keita Balde Diao and Antonio Candreva. The Blucerchiati notched up their second consecutive victory, leaving the Stadio Tardini with a 2-0 result thanks to Maya Yoshida and Keita Balde Diao goals. “We’d been quite inconsistent recently, we would win and then lose the next, so I hammered into the players this week that we had to start putting together a run of results,” Ranieri told media.
Samp is now comfortably mid-table in 10th place and could even begin to aim higher rather than worry about the relegation zone. “Juventus are coming up, we know they are in an excellent period of form and have incredible players, so we could well lose, but we have to try and play our game. What we cannot do is what we did this evening in the first half, when we allowed Parma too many shots on goal.” Emil Audero was decisive in goal with several big saves this evening, fingertipping the Gervinho strike onto the post.
Sampdoria (4-4-2): Audero; Bereszynski, Yoshida, Colley, Augello; Candreva, Thorsby, Ekdal, Jankto; Keita, Quagliarella
Suspended: None
Injured: Gabbiadini, Ferrari
The Bianconeri were beaten heavily by Inter in Serie A, but that was the only blip in an otherwise faultless January, which saw them win the Italian Supercup, close on the leading pack in the league, and thrash SPAL 4-0 in the Coppa Italia quarter-final. The Bianconeri made short work of Serie B side SPAL, with goals from Alvaro Morata, Gianluca Frabotta, Dejan Kulusevski, and Federico Chiesa. “Our objective was to get through and we did it against a team that has done well this season in both the Coppa Italia and their league,” Pirlo told media. “It was important that we take them on with conviction and we did that from the first minute.”
The coach has made very good use of the youth players, especially because Juventus are the only club in Italy who took advantage of the rule change allowing for an Under-23 team to play in Serie C. “Juve were the first and only club to create a B-Team and I think it was a great move for the development of these players. It’s one thing to pluck players from the youth academy, quite another to get them from a team currently in Serie C. I believe other clubs ought to open their minds a bit more.” Juventus will now face Inter in the Coppa Italia semi-final, which will be played over two legs on February 2 and 9. “We meet again. We’re happy because our objective is to win the Coppa Italia, so we’ll prepare next week.” Only Paulo Dybala and suspended Dejan Kulusevski are unavailable for this game, as Juve rested several stars for Wednesday’s Coppa outing.
Juventus (3-5-2): Szczesny; De Ligt, Bonucci, Danilo; Cuadrado, McKennie, Bentancur, Rabiot, Chiesa; Morata, Ronaldo
Suspended: Kulusevski
Injured: Dybala

Keita Balde Diao has scored 14 goals in his last 16 Serie A starts. As Juve is more clinical as the season goes, both teams to score could be a value betting option.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
