Torino returns to the pitch after their 3-2 win over Sassuolo on Wednesday as Sampdoria looks for their first win in more than a month. Read our reasons for Sampdoria vs Torino prediction and betting tips.
Claudio Ranieri said Sampdoria must ‘push’ to reach the target and admitted the Blucerchiati are ‘hungry for points’ ahead of Torino. Sampdoria sits 11th in Serie A but hasn’t won since the 2-1 triumph against Fiorentina on February 14. The 3-1 defeat to Bologna last weekend stretched the winless run to five league games and the coach is worried by the lack of points in recent weeks. “We are hungry for points because we have only picked up two in the last five games,” Ranieri told the club’s official channel. “This doesn’t reflect the value of our team. “We did well in Bologna and unfortunately we lost. The performance made me happy because the team fought. But we conceded two goals by lacking concentration. We had a really good game with 20 shots and good plays. But we collected zero points. We have to collect points, we are close to the target and must push.”
Torino, on the other hand, arrives from a 3-2 win over Sassuolo last time and has picked up seven points from their last five games in Serie A. “Torino are a very good team,” Ranieri said. “They are recovering and have the fighting spirit of the Toro. On Wednesday, they won against Sassuolo, never giving up after going down 0-2 and it’s not the first time this has happened. We will face a really difficult team.” Ranieri confirmed Ernesto Torregrossa, who struggles with a calf problem, could be on the bench against the Granata. “He is training separately. He will most likely be in the preparations tomorrow,” Ranieri said. “If he has no problems, I’ll bring him on the bench.”

Davide Nicola hopes the comeback from 2-0 down to beat Sassuolo 3-2 can give Torino confidence. ‘This team has to believe in itself more.’ The Granata were trailing 2-0 at home until the 76th minute with a Domenico Berardi brace in this rescheduled Week 24 fixture. They clawed their way back through a Simone Zaza double and Rolando Mandragora strike. “The truth is that we were naïve to concede those goals, but we hadn’t been playing badly,” Nicola told the media. “We managed to stop Sassuolo dominating possession and created eight scoring opportunities. This team has to believe in itself more and throw itself into the game without holding back. If you don’t take calculated risks, you won’t win matches. I am happy for the lads. We have the quality, we shouldn’t always have to wait until we’re trailing to show it. I might stay here for a day or a year, but I want to make this team understand they mustn’t be slaves to everything that goes on around the club.”
This was the first game with Andrea Belotti and Antonio Sanabria together, but it was substituted Zaza who turned the game around. “Zaza is important for Torino, he was when he started six games in a row and he is when he comes off the bench, not just when he scores two goals. He knows what I think and my faith in him. I am consistent. I also want to congratulate Belotti, because he put in a generous performance after recovering from COVID.”

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
