Sassuolo can still qualify for Europe and will look to stretch their three-game winning streak against in-form Sampdoria. Read our reasons for Sassuolo vs Sampdoria prediction and betting tips.
Seventh-placed Roma is six points clear of Sassuolo in the Serie A table, with just as many games remaining. Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi said the Neroverdi will keep pushing ‘as long as there is the hope of being able to climb to seventh’ in Serie A. De Zerbi’s men face Sampdoria on Saturday and are on a run of three consecutive wins in the League, with a seven-point gap down to the Blucerchiati at eighth. Giacomo Raspadori entered off the bench to score a brace against Milan at San Siro last time, securing three points for the visitors, and De Zerbi feels his players have matured. “This period of Sassuolo is the one where the team is more mature,” De Zerbi told the media. “They can read the moments in the games. “At Milan, we suffered a bit in the first half, we struggled with the quality of Milan and suffered from a tactical point of view, because they put us in difficulty. I took too long to make changes and we suffered, despite creating chances to score with [Jeremie] Boga and [Domenico] Berardi. After that, the confident physical aspect came out, because we closed the game on the rise, with knowledge and spirit, and I believe we deserved to win.”
Next, the Neroverdi face Sampdoria at the Mapei Stadium, and De Zerbi looks over his shoulder, but still wants to keep the hopes of European football alive. “It’s an important game against Sampdoria, as they are immediately behind us,” De Zerbi added. “They overtook Verona, and they too have their style. They are aggressive, they have quality players and courage. For us, it’s important because by winning, I’m not saying we will close at eighth, we care a lot, but it gives continuity, and as long as there’s the hope of being able to climb to seventh in the standings, we push until the end."

Claudio Ranieri’s side won the last two games in a row and collected ten points in the last five matches. Sampdoria striker Manolo Gabbiadini said he hopes coach Claudio Ranieri remains at the Marassi. 'I feel great with him'. The Blucerchiati sit ninth in the table and face eight-placed Sassuolo on Saturday, but despite the success on the pitch, the coach faces an uncertain future. But Gabbiadini said he hopes to continue working with the former Roma coach. “I feel great with him, but the decisions are not up to me,” Gabbiandini told the media. “In a year and a half together, I can’t complain about anything. There’s great esteem and respect, both for the coach and the man. I hope he says, but only the coach knows if it will be like this.”
The 29-year-old has struggled with inguinal hernia this season and said he doesn’t think about securing a place in Italy CT Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad for Euro 2020. “I don’t think about it, I started late this season and honestly, I only think about doing well with Sampdoria,” he continued. We will try to reach Sassuolo, even if it’s not easy. I’m sure we will finish well."

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
