Schalke will have to stop Hoffenheim if they're to avoid writing the wrong kind of Bundesliga history on Saturday.
The Royal Blues' miserable start to the campaign continued on Matchday 14 with a 3-0 loss at Hertha Berlin, meaning they are still rooted to the bottom of the table with just four points. The defeat also made it 30 games without a win in the Bundesliga across this season and last, one-off Tasmania Berlin's record of 31. Tasmania Berlin holds the record for most games without a victory in the Bundesliga (31), but Schalke's bad spell is the longest at 358 days. Schalke's 26 matches without a clean sheet is another club record worth mentioning.
Christian Gross will hope their luck will change in his second game in charge of Schalke, and he can at least can count on Sead Kolasinac bolstering the defense. Kolasinac is available for the first time following his return to Gelsenkirchen on loan from Arsenal, but captain Omar Mascarell is a doubt with a calf problem.
Schalke: Fährmann - Stambouli, Kabak, Nastasic, Oczipka - Mascarell (c), Serdar - Schöpf, Harit, Uth - Hoppe
Out: Bentaleb (not included), Boujellab (knock), Ludewig (foot), Paciencia (knee), Sane (knee)
Doubtful: Skrzybski (knock)
Coach: Christian Gross
Hoffenheim are not in great form themselves, they have lost three of their last four Bundesliga games. Hoffenheim slipped to 13th in the standings following a 3-1 home defeat against Freiburg. That result was made all the frustrating by the fact that Kevin Akpoguma and Sebastian Rudy were both forced off with injuries inside 17 minutes. Stefan Posch is back from suspension and should replace Akpoguma at right-back, while Rudy - whose knee injury is not as bad as first feared - will also miss out. Against Freiburg, he made way for Dutch youngster Melayro Bogarde, who could continue in that holding midfield role. Croatian attacker Kramaric. meanwhile, has scored five goals in nine appearances against Schalke, so he'll be confident of adding to his eight league goals so far this season.
Hoffenheim: Baumann (c) - Posch, Adams, Vogt, Sessegnon - Samassekou, Bogarde - Bebou, Baumgartner, Kramaric - Belfodil
Out: Akpoguma (hamstring), Bicakcic (knee), Geiger (hamstring), Grillitsch (abdominal muscle), Hübner (ankle), Kaderabek (muscular), Rudy (knee), Stafylidis (shoulder)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Sebastian Hoeneß

Schalke and Hoffenheim are the only two teams remaining without a clean sheet in 2020/21, so both teams to score is the most reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
