Sevilla play host to Levante on Thursday evening on the back of opening their 2020-21 La Liga campaign with victory over Cadiz.
Sevilla play host to Levante at their Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Matchday 4. Los Sevillanos kicked off the new La Liga campaign with a 3-1 win over Cadiz, with Ivan Rakitic finding the net on his return to the Andalusian outfit. Sevilla aim to give fans yet another reason for celebration, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at Levante in the midweek fixture. Facing Cadiz on away territory three days after the UEFA Super Cup final was far from ideal for a team who were back playing friendlies just three weeks after defeating Inter Milan. However, overturning a deficit to eventually win by a 3-1 scoreline would have reassured Lopetegui that his players are capable of avoiding any hangover from last season's exploits. The bigger test comes at the weekend when they face Barcelona at Camp Nou, but Los Nervionenses first need to focus on going up against opponents who are showing signs of being unpredictable.
Los Levantinos suffered a 4-2 loss to Valencia in the local derby in the season opener, but they did well to beat Osasuna on the road in their first away game of the season. Paco Lopez’s troops face an uphill task in the midweek game against Sevilla, and we do not believe that they are capable of claiming a major scalp on day 4. In their last meeting in Andalusia Sevilla recorded a 1-0 win over Levante, with Luuk de Jong scoring the only goal of the match. Lopetegui will almost certainly make changes to his starting lineup, with Luuk de Jong among the players to be handed a recall.
Joan Jordan, Munir El Haddadi and Oscar Rodriguez were all introduced as substitutes against Cadiz, leaving them in line to feature in the first XI for this game. Jules Kounde, who has been linked with a move to a bigger club, should also return in the center of defense.

Despite the tiredness which is inevitably present in the Sevilla ranks, they should be able to make light work of Levante.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
