Sheffield Utd host Brighton at the Bramall Lane (Sheffield) in the 33rd round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Saturday, April 24. Read our reasons for Sheffield Utd vs Brighton prediction and betting tips.
Sheffield Utd take on Brighton this weekend looking to move off their lowly 14 points and finish the season with some sort of form behind them. The Blades haven’t won yet under Paul Heckingbottom. United narrowly lost out at Wolves last weekend, despite being in the game for much of the tie. Meanwhile, Brighton held Chelsea to a goalless draw on Tuesday, their eighth clean sheet of 2021. The last two meetings between the two sides have ended in 1-1 draws but Brighton should really be looking for nothing less than three points against the league's basement club.
Five games and five defeats, all following a similar theme to the ones from before his arrival, have left the under 23 coach Paul Heckingbottom under no illusion about his main challenge. United have been uncharacteristically poor with the ball this season and have made life hard for themselves, winning only four times in the league. A constant turnover of possession and the gifting of cheap goals has been the source of the Blades downfall, and a caretaker coach believes fragile confidence is to blame for that lack of quality.
The Blades have long lost a chance to salvage something from a miserable season, in which they have languished at the bottom of the league. Paul Heckingbottom has not managed to inspire a change in fortunes since being put in charge until the end of the season as they are sat 19 points from safety with only seven league games remaining. For United, they’ll be desperate to get a win at Bramall Lane. It’s so vital that some momentum is built up ahead of next season. Starting that run of momentum with a win against Brighton could prove a turning point.
As for Brighton, Brighton edged ever nearer to staying up when battling for a goalless stalemate at Chelsea, having previously drawn 0-0 at home to Everton. Before the international break, Albion enjoyed back-to-back wins over Southampton and Newcastle, while they returned to action with a slightly unlucky 2-1 loss at Man United. Another resilient display at Stamford Bridge was only marred by Ben White’s late red card after Danny Welbeck had earlier fired against the woodwork from long range. However, Graham Potter saluted his side’s dogged approach to claim a deserved point in west London.
The Seagulls have lost one of their last five, winning twice in that period, and now sit seven points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand. Only the inability to capitalise in front of goal and convert impressive performances into points has kept them from mid-table security. The Seagulls are certainly playing well enough to steer clear of trouble and this is a good chance to close in on safety as they still have to play high-flying West Ham, runaway leaders Man City and Arsenal.

Sheffield Utd meet Brighton having lost just one of their last 11 league games against the Seagulls (W6 D4), with the Blades scoring at least once in every game in this run. Brighton haven’t won an away league game against the Blades since January 2005, though this will be just their third visit to Bramall Lane since then.
Sheffield’s twelve home defeats is the outright most they’ve ever had in a season, while the Seagulls have actually secured more points away from home this season, posting wins at Newcastle, Aston Villa, Leeds, Liverpool and Southampton.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
