Slovakia meet Spain at the Estadio de La Cartuja (Sevilla) in the EURO 2020 Group E Round 3 match and the game kicks off at 5 pm (UK) on Wednesday, June 23. Read our reason for Slovakia vs Spain prediction and betting tips.
CAN SLOVAKIA HOLD OFF WOUNDED SPAIN?
Spain simply cannot have one more botched tournament. They just can’t. Based on past accomplishments as well as current talent, they are head and shoulders above any team in the group, and were supposed to become toppers. They are placed third in the table, and if ’La Roja’ do not make these upcoming ninety minutes count, the team is going to be made the laughing stock of international football. Slovakia might be placed second in the table, but neither their recent performances, nor their head to head record against Spain are impressive. They might come shorthanded against a wounded Spanish side.
OPPORTUNITY SQUANDERED FOR SLOVAKIA AFTER SWEDEN DEFEAT
While Slovakia could have secured their progress to the knockout stages with a win, Sweden now lead Group E with four points - one more than Slovakia who face Spain in their final match. Slovakia have only won one of their previous six heqd to heads with Spain (D1, L4), although no previous meeting has come at a major tournament. If they’re to improve on that record, then they need to sharpen up their attack.
Štefan Tarkovič’s men have hit the joint-fewest number of shots on target (two) in the competition so far and have drawn a blank across two of their previous three internationals. After falling to a 1-0 loss against the Swedes, Slovakia need a positive result here in Sevilla to book their place in the knockout stage for the second consecutive time at a European Championship. On this Spain’s form, there’s no reason why they could not at least get a draw.
TIP #!1: Slovakia are yet to lose back-to-back games under manager Tarkovič (W4, D5, L2) and will try to keep it as tight as possible, knowing a draw will be enough here. Our first pick from Slovakia vs Spain betting odds is under 2.5 goals.
SPAIN SCRAMBLES FOR ANSWERS
After a very slow start, Spain need a crucial victory here to guarantee progression into the knockout phase and, thankfully for them, they go into this match-up boasting a 100% record against their opponents on home soil. However, they need to shake their habit of stalemates - they’ve now drawn each of their last four major tournament matches. Notably, only Portugal in 2016 have drawn all three group stage matches and progressed out of their group.
However, keep in mind the Spanish side that arrived for the final Nations League match-day last November. The team needed a victory at any cost to climb to the top of the table, and then Enrique’s side recorded a 6-0 win against the four-time world champions Germany. This Wednesday, La Roja once again are desperate for a win, and count on them to set foot on the pitch with a killer’s mentality. If not, it’s curtains for ’La Roja’.
TIP #2: Gerard Moreno has been directly involved in nine goals for Spain with five goals and four assists. That’s more than any other player and for him to score anytim here is a stand-out shout.

Slovakia have a 100% losing record in h2h encounters in the past 25 years, barring a single win and a draw. Also, the 2010 World Champions have lost just once in the past three years, and in the process they had gone on a seven-fixture winning streak. Do note that they are ranked sixth in the world by FIFA, whereas the Slovaks are placed 36th in the same list. Considering the desperation of Spain, expect them to go all out on Wednesday.
Final BettingKick’s Slovakia vs Spain prediction is: Spain to win.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
