Southampton host West Brom in the fourth week of the Premier League at St. Mary's Stadium (Southampton) on Sunday, October 4 and the match kicks off at 12pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
At the start of this 2020/2021 campaign the Saints were looking to keep the momentum from a really strong finish of the last season. Sadly for the Saints, in their season opener against Crystal Palace they looked like a disjointed side they were at the beginning of the last year and their misery compounded further by a heavy 2-5 defeat to Tottenham on their home debut last week. However, they bounced back against Burnley away last weekend (0-1) and now sit in the 15th place in the table with 3 points.
As for WBA, they suffered a home defeat to Leicester (0-3) on their Premier League return, then followed it with a 5-2 defeat to Everton. They picked up their first point in the Premier League in a draw against Chelsea last weekend (3-3), which saw them become the first team since themselves in 2010/2011 not to win despite leading 3-0 at half-time. They are now 17th in the table with a single point, visiting the Saints next in pursuit of their first Premier League victory.
MATCH ANALYSIS
Last weekend Southampton beat Burnley by a solitary Danny Ings's goal to end losing start. Ralph Hasenhuttl's side didn't start their season as expected but they have focused their work last week on the defense and it was fantastic to see how much they had invested against Burnley. In the end it was a very important win for the Saints as they had a non-existent pre-season, and couldn't prepare for the first game properly. Suddenly they looked different, more organized, which was actually the key to winning three points. With the rest of the squad, including Jack Stephens, James Ward-Prowse and Stuart Armstrong still there, and Danny Ings, who almost finished the season with the Golden Boot to his name, they have a strong core of the team, who shouldn't be in a similar situation to last year. But they apparently are. The Saints cannot rely on Ings to win games on his own and will need to be more solid defensively. Having got off the mark last weekend with a 1-0 win at Burnley, with no fresh injury concerns to contend with Ralph Hasenhuttl should name an unchanged side.
The Baggies started their new Premier League campaign with a whimper as they lost their home opening match against Leicester and followed it with an away defeat to Everton. They improved their performance significantly against Chelsea next, only to lose the maximum points after being three goals up at half-time.They have also shipped eleven goals in first three games and they will have to improve significantly defensively if they are to avoid facing immediate return to the Championship.Meanwhile, West Brom have agreed another season-long loan deal with Benfica for midfielder Filip Krovinovic, who also spent last season on loan at West Brom. Having been ineligible to face his parent club last weekend, Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher is available along with the returning Filip Krovinovic, and as such, Slaven Bilic's options in midfield look far stronger. Otherwise, with no fresh injuries,we expect them to field unchanged side to the one who played against Chelsea when they visit Southampton on Sunday.

Wyatt grew up in the suburbs of London and he is a big Chelsea fan. As a young boy, he found his love for football, which became an obsession, but when he tried playing it he soon realized that he just wasn't talented enough. Bearing that in mind, Wyatt decided to learn everything there is to know about all the teams and players, with special focus on Premier League and Championship . Wyatt has a big affection for Championship and he is well versed in all the teams and knows their advantages and weak spots very well. He is an economist, and being one makes him good with numbers and also good with the odds. His specialty are BTTS matches.
