Spezia and Bologna, the two teams who were hammered at the weekend, take on each other on Wednesday evening.
Crotone celebrated their first Serie A victory of the season, turning on the style in the second half to shock Spezia 4-1. Vincenzo Italiano insists Spezia had done well in the first half of their 4-1 defeat to Crotone, but ‘didn’t leave the locker room’ after the break. The Squali had failed to find the net in four consecutive matches before the dam broke at the Stadio Scida with Junior Messias. Diego Farias pounced on a terrible defensive error to draw Spezia level, but it was all Crotone after the restart. Arkadiusz Reca, Edouardo Henrique, and another Messias effort deep into stoppages sparked wild celebrations. However, Italiano has no intention of abandoning the attacking and positive approach Spezia have taken all season.
Spezia has a considerably long list of injuries to account for against Bologna and will have to do without the likes of Jeroen Zoet, Federico Mattiello, Cristian Dell'Orco, and Juan Manuel Ramos in this game. The home side is unlikely to make drastic changes to its line-up for this fixture.
Spezia (4-3-3): Ivan Provedel; Simone Bastoni, Claudio Terzi, Julian Chabot, Salvador Ferrer; Giulio Maggiore, Matteo Ricci, Nahuel Estevez; Emmanuel Gyasi, M'Bala Nzola, Diego Farias
Sinisa Mihajlovic has put Bologna into training retreat until Christmas after their 5-1 home defeat against Roma: ‘We looked like amateurs.’ It was certainly an action-packed game at the Stadio Dall’Ara, as Roma beat Bologna 5-1 in a dominant first half and there were another three goals disallowed. That is not taking into account the number of sitters missed, saves made by Nicola Ravaglia and Pau Lopez, and woodwork rattled. Incredibly, all six goals that ended up making it onto the scoresheet were netted in the crazy first half. Those included a comical Bryan Cristante's own goal to give Bologna a lift. “Now, to clear our heads, we’ll go into training retreat until Christmas. I saw the wrong attitude. My relationship with these players goes beyond football, even for what we have experienced with my illness. I have always paid special attention to them. As we do with children, sometimes I found excuses to justify them. But there is a limit to everything. And now they have exceeded that limit. Now, we go to retreat" – said angry Mihajlović.
Bologna has several injury concerns going into this match and will have to do without Riccardo Orsolini, Federico Santander, Mitchell Dijks, and Andreas Skov Olsen against Spezia.
Bologna (4-2-3-1): Angelo da Costa; Aaron Hickey, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Danilo, Lorenzo De Silvestri; Mattias Svanberg, Jerdy Schouten; Musa Barrow, Roberto Soriano, Nicola Sansone; Rodrigo Palacio

It is not easy to get up after a bad performance and the first thing that you want to change is your attitude. Both coaches are charismatic enough to turn things around and this could be an entertaining game with over 2,5 goals.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
