STOKE VS LEICESTER MATCH ANALYSIS
The Potters head into this match sitting in 8th place in the Championship with 35 points and have done well to be in the play-off mix despite missing key players. The Potters are set to host the Foxes for their FA Cup tie, on the back of a 0-1 home defeat to Bournemouth on January 2. The visitors, on the other hand, won their most recent match at Newcastle (1-2) and are positioned well to make a title push in a new calendar year. But first and foremost, they must focus on their next visit to Stoke in the cup.
Despite missing important players, Michael O'Neill's side have enjoyed some good performances, and the Potters are well-positioned to be in contention for the promotion spots after being defeated only once in their last six Championship matches (W1, D4). The Potters are just two points off the playoff places, and Michael O'Neill may rue a missed opportunity to get there after not being able to turn some of those draws into wins as they have failed to win any of their last 4 games in all competitions.
In addition to the home defeat against Bournemouth, Stoke lost at home against Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup (1-3) on December 23 plus were held to draws against Coventry away and Nottingham Forest at home in the Championship. They ended the last year’s Fa Cup campaign at this stage after losing 1-0 to Brentford and they face a Premier League team now, which gives them even slimmer chances to progress further.
The Foxes come into the match having defeated Newcastle United 2-1 away from home in the Premier League last weekend. That result leaves them just one point off the top of the table and they could have an opportunity to win the second Premier League title in their history. The Foxes are undefeated in their last 4 games, including wins over Tottenham and Newcastle plus draws with Man Utd and Crystal Palace.
Away form shows Leicester are undefeated in 5 of their last 6 away matches in all competitions and last year they managed to reach the FA Cup Quarter-finals after beating Wigan, Brentford, and Birmingham. However, they lost to Chelsea next (0-1) after not conceding a goal in the previous three rounds. They will surely be up for this on Saturday regardless of the demands of the festive schedule worked against Leicester, which could rob them of a cutting edge.

After a run in which they progressed from seven consecutive FA Cup third round ties between 2009/10 and 2015/16, Stoke have been eliminated from their last four third round ties.
Leicester have progressed from all five of their FA Cup ties against Championship opposition since they won promotion to the Premier League in 2014.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
