With powerful attacks of VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Mönchengladbach, Saturday evening's big game guarantees goals.
One thing that is guaranteed when Stuttgart has played this season is goals, especially when Silas Wamangituka has been involved. The 21-year-old Congolese winger leads Stuttgart's scoring charts after bagging his eighth goal of the campaign in his side's 4-1 rout of Augsburg last weekend. It was the promoted side's first win for three matches, but one which has kept them within three points of their visitors to the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Saturday.
Silas isn't the only Stuttgart man to have impressed in recent weeks. Pascal Stenzel, Born Sosa, Mateo Klimowicz, and Nicolas Gonzalez have all rotated into the team and performed superbly, with Pellegrino Matarazzo unlikely to tinker with his lineup too much. Tanguy Coulibaly, Daniel Didavi, and Sasa Kaladzjic are among those pushing for inclusion for their minutes on the pitch.
Stuttgart: Kobel - Mavropanos, Anton, Kempf - Silas, Mangala, Endo, Sosa - Klimowicz, Castro (c) - Gonzalez
Out: Al Ghaddioui (pelvis), Awoudja (Achilles tendon), Mola (hip)
Doubtful: Thommy (elbow)
Coach: Pellegrino Matarazzo
Another team on the up at the start of the new year is Gladbach. The Foals have won their first two games of 2021 having ended 2020 winless in four, the most recent of which will be remembered for some time after Marco Rose's charges came from 2-0 down to beat defending champions Bayern Munich last Friday. Rose will take charge of his 50th Bundesliga match. He has the highest win percentage of any Gladbach coach to have so many games on the bench (53 percent - 26 wins, 11 draws, 12 defeats).
Jonas Hofmann was the inspiration behind the win with his pair of goals and assist for Florian Neuhaus, and the Germany midfielder should once again support either Breel Embolo or Alassane Plea in the attack, the latter expected to shake off a recent muscular complaint. Marcus Thuram is still suspended while Denis Zakaria, employed as an extra midfielder last time out, could make way for the more attacking Patrick Herrmann or Hannes Wolf.
Gladbach: Sommer - Lainer, Ginter, Elvedi, Bensebaini - Kramer, Neuhaus - Wolf, Stindl (c), Hofmann - Plea
Out: Lazaro (groin), Reitz (pelvis), Thuram (suspended)
Doubtful: Doucoure (match fitness), Embolo (hand)
Coach: Marco Rose

Stuttgart has the best away record in the Bundesliga, but for the first time in the club's history, they have gone seven games at home without a win in the Bundesliga. They have also yet to celebrate a clean sheet at home so Gladbach could steal a big away win here.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
