After trashing Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgart return to action at home to Union Berlin on Tuesday.
Stuttgart ran riot in Dortmund on Saturday, recording a magnificent 5-1 win that cost Lucien Favre his job as BVB coach. Silas Wamangituka scored a brace for the second successive game to move onto seven goals for the season - three more than Nico Gonzalez, who stepped off the bench to net a late penalty. The Argentina international has only made two starts during an injury-interrupted campaign but has found the net in each of his last four. Should he begin at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, compatriot Mateo Klimowicz would likely be the man to make way. It's hard to see why head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo would feel the need to make any other changes, with his side knocking at the door of the European places after losing just once since the opening weekend.
VfB has scored at least once in every game in 2020/21, including seven following a mistake by an opposition team. Bayern leads that particular category with eight. Stuttgart has not lost any of their previous four meetings – in Bundesliga 2 and the Bundesliga/Bundesliga 2 promotion play-off – although they were beaten by away goals and consequently relegated in 2019, as Union celebrated their first-ever promotion to the top flight.
Stuttgart: Kobel - Stenzel, Anton, Kempf - Silas, Mangala, Endo, Sosa - Castro (c), Coulibaly - Gonzalez
Out: Al Ghaddioui (pelvis), Cisse (groin), Karazor (knee), Thommy (elbow)
Doubtful: Didavi (hip)
Coach: Pellegrino Matarazzo
Union is level on 17 points with promoted Stuttgart after 11 rounds of fixtures. Their club record eight-match unbeaten run was ended by city rivals Hertha a week ago, but they bounced back in style at home to Bayern Munich on Saturday, holding the record champions to a 1-1 draw in a game they could quite easily have won. That Union performed so confidently without injured talisman Max Kruse speaks volumes for the progress the relative top-flight greenhorns are making under Urs Fischer in only their second season of Bundesliga football.
Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi led the line superbly against Bayern, while Marius Bülter will hope he's done enough to keep Japan winger Keita Endo among the substitutes. Marcus Ingvarten took a blow to the ribs but should be OK to feature. Midfielder Robert Andrich serves the second of a three-match ban. Union has had more names on the scoresheet (12) than any other Bundesliga club this term.
Union: Luthe - Friedrich, Knoche, Ryerson - Trimmel (c), Gentner, Prömel, Lenz - Becker, Bülter - Awoniyi
Out: Andrich (suspended), Kruse (thigh), Pohjanpalo (ankle), Schlotterbeck (thigh), Ujah (knee)
Doubtful: Hübner (groin)
Coach: Urs Fischer

Stuttgart is a different team home and away, every time they got space for counters they look like a side that could be among the elite teams in Bundesliga. Union will try to steal their style and punish their mistakes, so both teams to score is a good bet

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
