SWANSEA VS NORWICH MATCH ANALYSIS
Second-placed Swansea will try to close the gap at the top between them and leaders Norwich as they come into Friday’s match on the back of a seven-game run without a defeat (W5, D2) and the most recent away win at Rotherham (1-3). Norwich, on the other hand, remain top of the league, five points above second-placed Swansea after two disappointing goalless draws on the trot at the Carrow Road against Middlesbrough and against Millwall in London. They too are looking to keep the gap between the top and the rest of the pack.
Swansea have done brilliantly under Steve Cooper in his first managerial job despite limited resources and a small squad. They are where they want to be – in the play-offs contention. The Welsh team have lost only four matches since a defeat in the last season's play-offs, which is impressive in its own right. After their 0-0 blip against another play-off hopefuls Reading on December 30, they continue to look like a team capable of mounting another promotion push.
Swansea tightened their grip on second place in the Championship with victory at Rotherham as goals from Hourihane, Grimes, and Fulton sealed the comfortable win. A seventh league match unbeaten means the Swans are now two points in front of Brentford in third place. They are also now only four points behind Norwich, who missed an opportunity to stretch their lead at the top of the table following their successive goalless draws.
As for Norwich, the Canaries, are determined to return to the Premier League immediately and will stick to their attacking style of play when they travel to the capital next. Finland attacker Pukki remains their key player at the moment, and he is likely to prove a handful for the hosts on Saturday. The Canaries lost to Barnsley in the FA Cup but, more importantly, they have to keep the momentum in the league which can change so quickly in the second-tier and are coming into this match in hot form.
Tuesday saw Norwich forgo an excellent opportunity to go further clear at the top as they were held to a goalless draw by Millwall. Gary Rowett's side sat deep and the Canaries found it challenging to find inroads or break down the low block. Norwich will be well aware of the fact that Swansea tend to do the same when they're out of possession. Steve Cooper's side shifts into a five-at-the-back system and their organization in defense has helped them become the side with the best defensive record in the league.

The last meeting between Swansea and Norwich at Liberty Stadium was a 4-1 victory for the Canaries in November 2018 during their promotion-winning season. Their overall record against the Welsh side is 9 wins to Swansea’s 6 (D2) in their last 17 meetings.
However, Norwich struggled against Millwall's low block in their last outing and it won't be much different against a Swansea side that has conceded five fewer goals than any other side in the Championship. Swansea will try to make the home advantage count but this one could also end up being a draw.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
