Swansea host Nottingham at the Liberty Stadium (Swansea) in the 30th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 7 pm (UK) on Wednesday, February 17. Read our reasons for Swansea vs Nottingham prediction and betting tips.
Steve Cooper’s men are flying high in the Championship and took down leaders Norwich 2-0 in the previous Championship round, to go five points off the top. The Swans are sitting four points outside the Championship automatic promotion spots, albeit with a game in hand over Brentford and two games in hand over leaders Norwich after freeze forced EFL call-offs last weekend. As for Forest, after being undefeated in seven matches in all competitions, prior to their back-to-back defeats in the league and FA Cup – against Boro and Swansea, Nottingham is back on winning ways, coming into this match unbeaten in four (W2, D2) in the league. After an important away win against bottom-placed Wycombe and a goalless draw at home against Bournemouth, they are big five points from the bottom-three in 16th.
Swansea have done brilliantly under Steve Cooper in his first managerial job despite limited resources and a small squad. They are where they want to be – in the promotion race. The Welsh team have lost only four matches since a defeat in the last season's play-offs (cups not included), which is impressive in its own right. In all competitions, Steve Cooper‘s side have suffered only one defeat in 11 games (W8, D2), at the hands of Premier League leaders Man City last Wednesday.
Despite the exit from Round 5 of the Fa Cup, Swansea have been in impressive form over the course of the first half of the Championship campaign and they are only getting better. They missed the opportunity to make further headway in their quest for automatic Championship promotion this weekend when their match against Sheffield Wednesday was called off, but one gets the impression head coach Steve Cooper would not have been too displeased with a few extra days' rest after a grueling schedule so far.
On the other hand, Nottingham Forest, despite their upturn in form upon Hughton’s appointment, are still sitting in 16th place, still too close to the relegation zone for their liking. However, they are on the right track after losing only once in eleven games (W5, D5). They had started a calendar year with two league wins in a row for the first time since 2010, and should they keep this momentum going, the Reds will soon secure safety.
Against Bournemouth on Saturday, the resurgent Forest edged a dull contest but also struggled to create chances against a cautious Cherries side who extended their unbeaten run to three games under interim boss Jonathan Woodgate. But Forest provided the bulk of what little goal threat there was as a veteran Reds striker Glenn Murray, who scored twice on his full debut in last week's 3-0 win over Wycombe, came closest when his header was cleared off the line after the break.

Swansea meet Nottingham looking to complete a league double over the Reds for the first time since the 1938/39 season as they won 1-0 in the reverse fixture at the St. Andrew’s. They have also thrashed the visitors 5-1 in the Round for of the FA Cup on January 23. The Swans are unbeaten in their last 11 home league games (W7 D4), conceding just three goals in this run, while Nottingham have kept five clean sheets in their last seven away league matches against Swansea.
For the hosts, it is extremely tight at the top of the table, and one assumes that the trio's battle for the top two will go down to the wire. Meanwhile, Chris Hughton’s side are starting to get into a positive rhythm and pick up some much-needed momentum as they aim to pull themselves well clear of any relegation danger.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
