SWANSEA VS READING MATCH ANALYSIS
Swansea come into this match on the back of a convincing 2-0 win against QPR in London. The hosts are second in the Championship standings with 39 points, while Reading are sixth. However, just three points separate these two sides heading into this game in South Wales. Reading also come into this game on the back of a win. They secured a much-needed 2-1 win over Luton Town at the Madejski Stadium at the weekend.
Swansea have done brilliantly under Steve Cooper in his first managerial job despite limited resources and a small squad. They are where they want to be – in the play-offs contention. The Welsh team has lost four matches since a defeat in the last season's play-offs, which is impressive in its own right. They continue to look like a team capable of mounting another play-off push after their latest win on Saturday.
On Boxing Day, Swansea climbed into the Championship's automatic promotion places, as goals from Andre Ayew and Jamal Lowe gave them a 2-0 victory at QPR. Swansea’s leading scorer’s header, and his eighth goal of the season, put Steve Cooper's team ahead at the end of a first half in which Rangers had been the better side. Lowe then scored for the fourth time in as many games early in the second period to put the visitors firmly in control. Swansea's third win in four matches means they leapfrog Bournemouth and move into second in the table, four points behind leaders Norwich.
As for Reading, they fell down the table after losing four matches on the trot in November, but have remained in the play-off contention after they managed to consolidate a bit. Since then they have registered four wins, two draws, and three defeats in their last nine league games. Their identity is still forging, but with them blowing hot and cold, it looks like they still aren’t ready to challenge the best sides in the league. However, all that can change if they string a few wins together.
The win on Boxing Day against Luton could be just that spark they were looking for. The Royals moved back into the Championship play-off places after two first-half goals were enough to beat Luton. Tom McIntyre's impressive volley gave the Royals an early lead and Alfa Semedo made it 2-0 late in the half with his first Reading goal. Reading remain in the play-off hunt and have now scored more goals at this stage than any of their last ten Championship campaigns (32).

The Swans are unbeaten in their last 11 league meetings with Reading (W6, D5) since September 2008, while Reading haven’t won any of their last six away league games against Swansea, alternating between defeat and a draw since a 1-0 win in February 2001. Interestingly, historically, both Reading and Swansea have won 33 games against each other.
Swansea are in the middle of a fine run of results, which is why they should be expected to get the three points in this game. The likes of Andre Ayew and Jamal Lowe could be a little too much to deal with for a Reading rearguard that has been affected by injuries.
BettingKick’s prediction for the Swansea vs Reading match is: Swansea win

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
